SQuiT-man
Have you or any mates had any experiences with them? What did you/they find of their guitars? (I'm into electrics in particular)Scott

Dan Clark
They just look like cheapo crappy guitars on Ebay.I'd recommend a Squier, Epiphone or an entry level Ibanez, they will be much higher quality.

SQuiT-man
Cool. Have you played any other guitars? And how do they compare?Which one is it btw? E.g. Purple Acrylic Strat copy or whatever
Josephine
I dunno how useful this is but; I used to play one of their basses (orange acrylic 4-string). Off the shelf it was pretty poxy, I had to spend some money to get things working nicely, I'm gonna agree with getting a budget Ibanez, it'll serve you so much better.Joe
TomR
Get an ESP LTD or a cheaper ibanez and whack a SD in it, Kramer are really good too. Or for the gibson style of things i'd go for an Epiphone.
Dan Clark
Also, do not get an acrylic guitar, I know they look exciting but will sound like total wank, unless maybe they have active EMG's in, which they won't.
SQuiT-man
Cheers for all the advice, I'm considering perhaps a Cort X2, or X6 or something off ebay instead What do u think?
Dan Clark
I've heard some alright things about Cort.Definately better than Wesley, I heard Aria make good cheap guitars too.
TomR
Yeah i had an Aria Mac 50Q, and in all fairness it was a bloody good guitar, and only £200. Comfortable neck, 24 frets, although i did replace the bridge pickup with a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck pickup, and it sounded pretty good. The volume control pot went a bit crackly but thats only happened recently and ive had it about 3 or so years now.http://www.ariaguitars.com/int/03_products/pro_eg_mac_50.htmlIm surprised you didnt reccommend schec's to him Dan! Very cheap and top notch quality. Shops have had delays on deliverys before because they wont let anything leave the factory that isnt 100% spot on. Got a good range too. SQuiT-man
Awesome, I'll check out both of those two makes mentioned, too. Cheers!Btw, I'm a newbie to guitars- what dou people mean when they say "put an SD on it"?Seymour Duncan pickups? And how much do they tend to cost? SQuiT-man
Btw, did u mean shec, spelt that way?Cos I found 0 results on ebay, and nothing much on google either...?
TomR
Sorry, schec is an abbreviation for schecter guitars. SD = Seymour duncan pickups, best ones to go for are usually the SH4 Jeff Beck models or the Invader for balls out metal. Usually £90-£110 but improve the sound no end. How much are you actually looking to spend in total, ie amps leads etc...?
SQuiT-man
I've got an amp guitar and lead already, so I'm just selling me Les Paul and buying another guitar. Ideally spending about the same as I sell my Les Paul for really, I just want a change to get me into guitaring again. So probs around (hopefully under) £100 for a guitar on ebay.
