Simpson
Easier visiting some sort of mechanics, they use it in racing on alloy frame to give more strength with harder metal threadsso try visiting somewhere local in your area and if they dont do it they'll point you in the right direction hopefully! i looked at kits online but where £15? think you can get it all done for you cheaply for about that! street trials rider
a good helicoil kit will cost you about £25-30.... a engineering place will probably charge you about £15 upwards for the services of sorting it all out, but unless your cranks are designed to have a insert in them (eg/ tensiles) your better off just buying a new crank arm (or pair)For £5 you wont get very far however... you can buy a few helicoils for that price, but then after that you wont have the correct tools to insert them
louth trials 2006
thanks mate i just rang my mum and she says my uncle will do it for free i might have to pay for the helicoil thats it he owns a car garage so im sorted now thanks for all your help thoughtom
basher
have u looked on tarty they are the best ones to use the ones that are used on tensiles http://82.110.105.16/tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=50 , the problem with going and buying a helicoil from a mechanics is more than likly it will be in metric (milimetres) what u need is imperial (inches) as the thread on a pedal is 9/16 so i would advise getting the inserts on tartybikes for tensiles and taking your crank to an engineering company or your uncle if he nos what he is doing and getting them to do it. hope i could of helpedhudson
