planet x alan
dont use super glue. is the slit near the lever or caliper? if it is take it off cut the broken bit off and put it back on and bleed it through a few times
Alan
It was right in the centre of my rear hose But ive ordered some more hose off CRC, Cheers anyways.
nmt_oli
Dont bother with superglue, it will jsut split again under pressure. imagine being on the rear wheel on a ledge or something, the hose splits again and you loose the brake! could be painful. don't mess, the split will just get bigger, buy a new hose. Don't forget to use new olives when installing it!
Sam Oliver
I dont think superglue & tape would hold a hose for a minute. The amount of pressure would be to great. Edited February 22, 2006 by SamMonty

Alan
How do you fit olives? I have done a search but theres soo many pages
Phatmike
No need to mess about trying to patch your hose, (providing it's at one end of the hose, such as lever or cylinders). Just unscrew it, remove the olive, then trim your hose down to just below where the slit was. Slide the "screwey in bit" on your hose, then slide the olive on after that, then just screw the bit in, and tighten it up.Good to go. Simpson
The olive should just slide over the hosing so when you do it up it will tighten up propperly
Mr Monty
I was just about to make a topic about not being able to fit the olive then i saw this at the top of the page . It should just slide on mate, make sure that the hose is smooth at the end. If you need to cut it with hot sharp stanley knife that will get you a nice edge .
