trials_man
ive always wondered which is best or if they are the same. Is there any differnce in the performance of the 04 and 05 magura hs33's? ive got 04 magura's at the moment and was wondering if its worth the £100 upgrade? Ross Gardner
no difference in performance but i have front and back 05 maggies and i had 04 maggies and i would say the 04 maggies are more comfortable levers to ride with but thats my opinion, but brake pads make all the difference
az_zoo
I find that the 04 levers are much better then the 05's because they are more powerful and look better then the 05 ones. The 05 ones were designed to make the brake pull more solidly with out the spongeness thats why i think they are less powerful then the 04 ones. So i think that you should stick with the 04 ones mate but it is up to you. az-man
Fishy
The 04's are easier to bodge as well, and break less, my mate bought his about 3 months ago, and now they are buggered. Stick with the 04's...
Jowster
The 2005 levers were a totally new design to magura so surely there going break some way or another, were as with the 04 brakes, they are the same design as the previous products, so they managedto make them stronger as the years go by. but with this newer design they've only sold this for a year nowso they've got next year to over come the problems with it.it also depends whether you like the feel of the levers too. if it was me personally i would go for the 04 brake because, its easier to bodgelooks gudi have got the 05 brake and have had many problems with the tpa and the only solution to this is buy a new lever or get one specially made.i prefer the 05 to the 04 for the feel and looks but if i hadn't of got it on my bike i probably would of bought the 04 brake set hope this helps you
