Michael Hardman
You might need the Park chain tool, I can never remeber the mode number.Or you could do what I did and use mole grips to push the pin in a bit so it fits into the chain breaker, yes its dodgy but it does work. PaRtZ
CT7 I believe should work. Just get the most expensive park tool you can find
Tom Booth
My CT5 does KMC kool 1/8ths fairly easy, so im guessing itll do other 1/8th chains
philking
My expensive park one doesnt fit my KHE collapse...If you get a really cheap one, like the crappest one you can find then the manufacturing tolerence will in theory be less precise and therefore will probable be a less snug fit i.e. looser. So maybe just get a completely crappy one.
Swize
You could use a hammer and punch I suppose but it would make it a little harder.Easyer than buying a £35 ct7 tool though.. TomN
A bog standard chain tool will do.
Will Arnold
if you're using the middle links to join the chain with the split link, ange grind the mushroomed pin down to the same level as the outside plate. then use a hammer and punch to knock the bugger out Will
mat hudson
the usual 7 quid ones are fine

JT!
Is that confirmed? it does all those 3 chains? It's go like an ajust knob on it so you can do whatever sise chain you want, but when you do the KHE chain you have to remove it.Definatly does KHE collapses.Just make sure you get the 1/2" bmx one. You shorted your chain with an angle grinder, and you wonder why it snapped after 4 months!!??bout 7 quid. The one i posted is cheaper. On the subject of chains is this anygood? http://82.110.105.16/tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=176The words 'great-value' generaly means 'cheap shit' on tartybikes. Stick with a KMC kool chain, supercycles have them on offer at the mo. Edited February 23, 2006 by JT!
Phatmike
You shorted your chain with an angle grinder, and you wonder why it snapped after 4 months!!??Moron.I'm not exactly going to grind parts of the chain that are in use - as someone said earlier in the thread, grind the heads off the pins, remove the outer plate, and the one on the other side (with the pins still), then use the split link to join the two exposed ends. And surprise surprise, it snapped nowhere near the split link.I'm not that shocked it did snap, it was rusty to hell anyway.Said chain:(Taken with my macro bitty)[attachmentid=2742]
