Right, after all that virus crap, I reinstalled windows.

Now, Ive entered m e-mail adds back in outlook, but no matter what I try, it rejects my password for the NTL e-mail account.

Ive even tried changing the password, but still nothing, outlook thinks it wrong password, despite the fact its not.

Yes caps lock ect is off

You can check if the NTLWorld account is working by looking at your mail from NTLWorld -

http://www.ntlworld.com/webmail/?page_zone=211.7.1

and if you can get at your mail through your browser you know it's the mail client.

With NTL the main password is the letter followed by about ten numbers (I don't remember how many, it's on that CD)

Try Mozilla Thunderbird, it's got a nice spam and scam filter when it's set up.

If you knew all of this and already tried it, please ignore this post.

Well it'll depend on what your settings are...

Outgoing mail will be smtp.ntlworld.com (I think)

Incoming mail will be POP3. *something*

And then obviously you'll need to put your password in somewhere. As long as those two are in the right way around, and the password is right, you can't go too wrong?

[checks own at home]

smtp.ntlworld.com (port 25) - would only affect sending mail if wrong

pop.ntlworld.com (port 110) - the pop server

user name - just the bit before "@ntlworld.com", not including it.

password - well, you used it to get on your mail on the web.

If there are any error messages, let us know what they are. Someone might know better.
