Street Lee
Have a gander at this, the new rim from G-Sport. Surely some of the design features would work well for trials, especially the flat topped tyre beads? Or are these already in use on current trials specific rims? Well planned and designed rims, hats off to the best product designer and engineer in the industry
Hobnobs
For trials, the only good thing i can see is the flat topped tyre beads. Obviously the fat bit where the nipples are seated is good, but we dont need strength there, we need super fat sidewalls, and some sort of support to stop them bending. Ash-Kennard
doesn't look that special, but some of the design work in that rim could be used to make a very strong and light rim, but i think that one will be quite heavy because it is for BMX but could be used for mod i guess, but i cant see a given weight.if they make one for stock notify me
Hobnobs
Its 500g, so pretty light really. Ronnies are 530g i think? I dont see where the ronnie is so heavy.

Thats about the same weight as your average wide rear trials rim, I think (e.g. ronnie/try-all, etc)

Dan Clark
BMX companies are being really really innovative recently, like the Odyssey Elemental stem, and the KHE hub, or the new designs of freecoasters they are coming up with.Trials companies really need to follow suit instead of being happy with what we have. CurtisRider
its a pity we cant have a freecoaster that would withstand trials freehub abuse, would kick ass-unless there is one out i dont know about..........
Dan Clark
Big problem with freecoasters is one tiny bend on the axle ruins everything.
CurtisRider
isnt that the case with most hubs though? well at least cassette hubs

PaRtZ
What about a hydraulic gyro? Like it lets you spin your bars 360 without your magura getting tangled?I've been thinking about this alot, it can work fine, except I need a material which has following propertiesMinimal friction between moving parts (like teflon)Can be made to be air-tightIll get some picture up soon, but you think this is a good development? I know Id love to try a barspin drop
Ash-Kennard
ive been contemplating a hydrolic giro for over a year and have gotten nowhere, id be very interested to see your design.EDIT: ive just seen phils post. i remember seeing that and got all excited, but it didn't look very reliable Edited February 16, 2006 by ash-kennard
