Jared
Is it common in trials because my bottom bracket has lots of play in it but the bike isnt that old i dont think. Will it just be wear thats caused it or what??Thanks for help
Jaffacakes
It will be loose most likely. Is it the axle in the BB moving or the whole thing. If it's the whole BB stop riding now or you will knacker the threads in your frame. If it's its only the axle moving it's going to be new BB time soon. Ash-Kennard
i found the same problem today, the whole thing is moving, is it just loose?
ramps
If it is just the bb cups moving, tighten them good and tight with an extra leverage bar on the end of your ratchet. If the axle is moving, which happend to me, new bb needs to be on its way.
Ash-Kennard
surely they threads have to be really loose for the whole thing to be moving?
ramps
Not really, bb's must be uber tight because of the stress on them

Jared
Right then.Ive had my cranks off and tightened the bottom bracket up and there's no play (slack) anymore. But there is one problem,it's not smooth its notchy also sometimes it clicks. Will this mean i'll still have too buy a new bottom bracket?
