Krisboats
switch everything off and switch it all back on again?if that doesn't work is there a reset switch on your router? and you could system restore xp to before you did it if its a problem on the laptop side... that might get it. Tomm
Use a cable to connect to the router and go back into the router settings and change it back to what it was Why were you changing channels again though, I thought you'd just got it working? Tomm
Yeah, so get an ethernet cable and plug that into the router (and the other end into the PC, obviously). Unless it's some funky wireless-only router, which would be weird. If that is that case I guess you'd have to manually reset it, there'll probably be a button to reset on there somewhere, you'll have to push it with a pin or something. Read the manual
nb88
Yeah no problem...just do what ^ said. Why'd you change to channel 14 anyway?
SCOTTY___
Right ive tryed the reset botton and it hasnt made any differance...I still need to try the Ethnet cable idea but i nhavent got a spare one.. So i need to see my contacts I was changing it to 14 because i was still having alot of problems while gaming, " CL_FlushEntryPacket " and it was totally kicking me out of Condition Zero and coming up with " Fatal Error "!!So as i say ive tryed the Reset button to no avail... But still need 2 try the Ethnet Cable idea..Anyother suggestions ??Craig...
nb88
Ah i see, changing channel didnt fix the problem then.......hmmIf you get an ethernet cable itll definately work, you'll just be able to connect to the router through the cable and change the settings on that ip tomm gave you in the last thread. I really dont know what to suggest to your problem on CS though
Tomm
I can pretty much guarantee that your problem does not lie in your wireless connection. When I ping my router via my wireless, I have a response time of less than 2ms. Even if using ethernet was instant (it's not...) to the router, that's only the difference between a ping of 30 and a ping of 32ms. You can test it though, I guess there might be something wrong with your wireless. Start - run - type "cmd", press enter - type "ping 192.168.2.1" (i think we decided that was your router's IP?) and press enter. if it's any less than 5 or even 10, then it's not a problem.Does your connection ever drop and then reconnect? Does the little icon in the taskbar lose connection and then reconnect a couple of seconds after?

Tomm
IS that cos the router isnt connected?Craig...Yes. You know you can use the cable that connects your PC to the modem, to connect the PC to the router? It doesn't matter that it's then not plugged into the modem. So just do that and then go on the router setup, you can plug the internet back in when you get wireless signal. What router is it by the way? Tomm
You won't be able to connect to the internet, but you should be able to connect to the router 192.168.2.2.You have got a cable running from the PC's ethernet slot to (one of) the router's LAN port(s), right? And the router is switched on? Type that address and it ought to work.I'm not on MSN very often, if I have any free time tomorrow night I'll add you
