KOXX-UK
KOXX DAYS 2006.To avoid disappointment please read below.I am concerned that prospective visitors may be of the opinion that they can just turn up and sleep in the forest. In previous years that may have been the case, but the event has grown to such a degree that a level of regulation has to be imposed. If you want to camp, use the dormitory accommodation or compete in the competition it must be pre booked.I have been told, but I have not had it in writing yet, that showers and toilets will be provided for campers. Fires will not be allowed, this has always been the case when Buthiers has hosted World events. The fire rule is enforced by the site owners, not KOXX, I expect they will patrol as they do during the Worlds. Those opting to book the dormitories will enjoy the added benefits of breakfast and an evening meal, coach trip to Paris and entry to the meal/music evening. I am waiting to hear if campers can book a place on the coach trip.Don’t forget you will need a licence to ride in the comp.To book your place, regardless of your options, visit KOXX.FR – select the English version, visit the KOXX DAYS announcements in the news items, pre payment may be made by credit card. totaltrials
FREDDY, just wondering if you can clear some bits up.Can you explain whether the camping costs are 12Euros per person per night, or per tent (it doesn't say anywhere on the website) if it's per person per night, I think somebody might be rich at the end of the week, £8.24 per person is rather steep, if it''s per tent I would say thats cool, and how would this be enforced?Thanks.Phil. KOXX-UK
PHILLY;I'll check on theperson/tent thing, is £8.24 steep? Normally the showers and loos are not open out of season, so you can't compare normal off peak camping prices. As far as enforcing matters are concerned, it may be down to trust - or the gun toating on site security guards may shoot non paying campers on site - who knows???????????????????KOXX are not going to go out of their way to give visitors a rough time, or for that matter rip them off, I expect the opposite, as in previous years. No doubt there are other questions, I said in my post there are some unresolved issues - Ill try to answers asap.Fred

KOXX-UK
Update; The price quoted for camping is per person. As far as I am aware the Base is not open to the public, so their price rates cannot be applied. KOXX have hired the whole place around this time for the last six years. Some camped last year and used the shower and toilet facilities in the Dorms’, in fact they were only supposed to be available to those staying in the buildings. In previous years I did not notice any campers, so last year presented circumstances to the organisers that they had not considered deeply. Renting a site like Buthiers, insuring it, paying for your own staff etc is costly, hence the price.KOXX plan to take all those on site into Paris, including campers. I suggest if prospective visitors consider the camping fee to high they should off set some of their expenditure against the possible cost of a coach trip to and from the capital, what you pay for that, possible 30 euro, it equates to almost 3 days free camping.Other freebies on offer include the group coaching sessions with Serge, I doubt many will want t take part, its there if you want it.Campers may buy tickets for Saturday night’s meal/music/bar etc. If you are planning your trip and can’t work out what you will need to pay I suggest you mail the factory saying you want “A, B, C & D” – how much will that cost?Fred. totaltrials
I don't want any grand master flash coaching or a seat on a bus to paris, or a chance to buy a ticket for some food, I want a piece of bumpy grass I can lie on with a piece an odd shaped canvas covering me.Then, hopefully just like every other rider, I want to ride my bike and not get totally ripped off.Phil. Waynio
hahahahahahhahahahaathere is a moral to this...............you either want to go or not.pay the price and enjoy yourself or dont go, i had such a good time last year il go for as long as the event is held. WEATHER i ride for koxx or not. i didnt ride for koxx last year and was willing to pay the fee's that were charged, luckily we didnt get charged BUT people are looking at it from last year"oh we didnt get charged, lets blag it again"it wont happen Koxx days is SUCH a big event now compared to what it used to be, i think they have the right to control things in an appropriate manner, like andy t is, cos were used to "some" things been cheaper over here than in other countries doesnt mean its the same all over the world.iv got to pay like very similar amount to matt staples for 6 people!!!!! but the people i have spoken to are NOT bothered, they want to attend one of the biggest events of the year where they DONT have to be seeded/selected like a world round. they can go have fun and enjoy themselves.Waynio...........................to be honest theres alot of brits going and it seems to me ONLY the brits complaining, do you think for koxx that they will be bothered if a handful of pommes dont turn up to koxx days??? theres limited spaces this year aswell. so hey look on the bright side people......................i do. iv got a dislocated finger and cant ride my bike for 3-6 weeks. the 6th week works out to be koxx week, so il be pissed off then if im not fixed!!!!!but hey id still go for the crack and the enjoyment, the riding is a bonus.oh matt...........iv just checked, you have paid for the "koxx camp" too. so thats a fully inclusive price of staying in a dormotry, on the koxx camp, the trip to paris, and the weekend events (comp and the party and stuff)im sure if you e-mail koxx and give them the transaction number etc etc they will sort it out.if you have any probs e-mail me and il look into it for you. as im sorting mine out at mo and im just waiting for a repsonse from koxx so when they e-mail back i can give you details of what to do Waynio............................. Matt Staples
Thanks allot Wayne. top fellow.I think Wayne has a good point. I i'd pay it without thinking about the cost. now that may be because i'm stupid, or it could be that i know i'm not just paying for the services that Koxx provide. i'm paying for the experience. the fact that koxx are making a profit, small or large, doesn't bother me. Waynio
Matt iv been using that bloody website now for the last few days and i know what is missing!!!!"Ajouter au panier" = add more to basket............so iv e-mailed koxx about it and il see what they say. unless with it being an IP address out of france im not 100% sure. but il keep my eye on it and let people know. what i did at one point which i am waiting for PJ to come back to me on is if i add "1" day and add say 6 into that box "in theory" it means we'll be staying 6 days. im hoping that will be ok, then il do seperate payment for the competition. that means 2 transactions of payments BUT it means it will be booked. il let people know once i have found out.Waynio..............................Matt just wait till you have had the koxx days experience you wont mind it costing you some ££££ cos its absolutly amazing!!!! just mental riding, and the people that are there are real kool everyone gets along. will be top MUKKA!!!!
