Need Help Identifying Some Old Brake Pads...

Back in the day many moons ago (when dinosaurs roamed the earth and endos were cool - 5 years ago-ish), I had a Monty with a set of Maguras that had these kinda cream coloured pads. Said Maguras had long-blade levers, were red and had the words 'Trials' written on the lever (which was strange at the time because no-one had ever seen 'em before). The pads were weird - they made this thoroughly non-brake like sound, something akin to someone rubbing two blocks of polystyrene together instead of the normal squeal/bark we were all used to. Kinda gave me the impression they were made from two blocks of solid elastic if you see what I mean. And they weren't quiet either, you could hear the damned things for miles around. All I can remember is that they locked like nothing else I've ever tried (almost no modulation though, felt like having tar on yer rims even though this was on a completely smooth rim - grinding was a new phenomenon and very few people liked the idea of tar).

Oh yeah, and I had them for about a year and a half and there was almost no wear on them when I sold the bike.

I know that's a bit vague, but the question is: does this sound familiar to anyone and does anyone do a V version of it?

Cheers.

i used to have a set. they lasted aaaages, and were really good. not avaliable anymore though.. I find coustellier pads to be pretty ok..

Just ordered a set of Heatsink white Vee's - they look pretty damned similar to those old pads I had. If they're crap I'll try the cousts.
