Rob_P
lol sureBacially you have the insurance so that say your mum/dad is the MAIN driver, and because they have lots of no claims (hopefully) and there old and careful (hopefully) then the insurance will generally be alot cheaper, then you are just a named driver. It costs a little more than if your parents were to insure it alone but it's certinatley much cheaper than having you insure it for say £900 on your own
Prawny Baby
if you go with norwich union, 3rd party fire and theft, in your own name, a 998cc mini with pass plus will cost you around £500 first year aged 17.....you wont get ANY better than that!what peggs is saying, is that direct line will now give named drives a no claims bonus!so if you drive on your parents policy as a named driver with direct line for 2 years, you will have 2 years no claims on your own policy when u start one!which is awesome! Brisa
I got better I live in Belfast (adsolute hole for high risk insurance) and my mini 998cc cost me as a 17 year old with no pass plus or any of that (we can't do it until off 'R' plates which isn't for a year) for a stonking £562 a year.Do a wee search for footman james insurers. They do a mini specific section. Y'all mini owners should check it out, only think they ask is your a member of a mini club (£18 a year for me) you should be part of one anyway!
