Tomm
I'm guessing you have an ethernet port on your laptop. And one on your router. Get a cable and join them. You won't need any drivers or anything, they will already be there, and everything will work fine. You laptop probably has a 56k modem in, so don't use that...Having said that, you shouldn't be having any problems with a Wireless connection really. Have you switched off any file sharing stuff you have running (Or what other people are running on your network)?

Krisboats
Are the other computers on the network taking up all the bandwidth? like are THEY downloading stuff and not you. get them to stop and it should be it.I don't know why a wireless connection would stop you playing, there might be a little more lag but it should still work. nb88
I'm using a wireless connection, CS runs fine, with some odd problems... ive got 54g wireless, what speed is yours? Also, the channel you use can sometimes effect it, i changed mine ages ago and suddenly stopped lagging. If you're unsure, go into your router settings and check. nb88
Have you still got the box/instructions for the belkin router? Should say on the front if its 54g or 11.8b or whatever. Also what signal have you got (should say bottom right) and what speed are you connected at?To go into the router settings and try using another channel, go into the router instructions (download them if u need) and in there it should say an ip address to connect to.mine is: 192.168.1.1 (might be the same). It should also say a default username and password just enter that in and go to 'wireless' and choose a different channel, i use channel 6. You shouldnt be lagging at all . You must have 54g if you are connected at 54mbps You were supposed to click those IPs, if you got an error on all of them then your router has a different ip. Try going to the belkin site and looking for the manual for your model? Model number should be on the bottom of the router or something.Apart from that... maybe it could be your internet? If you still have problems after changing the wireless channel i dont know what the problem could be apart from your isp as your signal is so good... Do you ever have any problems with the internet when downloading or surfing or any general stuff? Or with any other games?

Just click around, see if you have any options for which channel the router uses. You may also be able to change the channel on your wireless network adapter settings. Which network adapter are you using? USB/PCI etc? I have a netgear which is quite good for changing settings easily.

Tomm
He's not come back...obviously worked then Or buggered up his connection. You really need a wired connection to piss about with the wireless settings, because you change something and all of a sudden it stops working and you can't get back into the setup to change it back

stav
if you get any more problems at all ditch the router and get your money back and get a Linksys or Netgear router, Belkin are probably if not the worst and cheapest piece of rubbish you can get for networking, but sounds like you got it all working which is cool!! and very rare! hehe Stav
