Once you've snapped that chainwhip, wrap some old chain around the sprocket, then clamp it in a vice. The chain protects the teeth, and also allows it to grip the vice pretty well, so you can hammer the minx off. "Try it, it worked for me (Y)" stylee, there.

Yeh mark, already bent one lol :P

Iven just been trying your method and it was just ripping itself out the vice.

Anyhooo i will try again :)

Also is it possible to bend the cog if i overtighten the vice?
