Simon
Knowing the hay bail cycle of the fields around you, so when the farmer did his harvest, into those ball thing, we would go and play in them, and make "bases" and shit. Just one example. Not having to worry about getting up for work, or doing what you've been asked in the alloted time frame, or having millions worth of profit resting on your shoulders.Too right i miss being young. Heatsink
Fear not, if you continue the cycle and have your own children then you have a license to be a kid all over again! I spend my weekends playing in playbarns with Callum and checking out the latest toys Steve
Danny
And i bet you love it more than him dont you steve?I wish i could go back to the first school era where i didnt have a care in the world and a few pounds worth of sweets a week would keep me perfectly happy. Walleee
Fear not, if you continue the cycle and have your own children then you have a license to be a kid all over again! I spend my weekends playing in playbarns with Callum and checking out the latest toys SteveBut on monday it all goes back to routine right?I seriously am having problem coming to terms wth the fact that im not a kid anymore. At 19, I don't feel like a fully fledged adult, and I couldn't leave home anytime soon. While I don't have responsibilities, as such, I have idea's of what I should be doing and I know what's right or wrong. Having to pay housekeeping, buying my own clothes, paying my own phone bill etc. It seems like since I turned 18, the world got serious on me. For a while I was really at a loss, because every week, something would crop up, and it would be ALL my pay gone, no luxuries for me at all.Kinda getting back on track but still could be happier really if I was 8 again out doing 'missions' with my mates in the neighbours garden's.I remember being at my grannies, climbing over an 8ft wall into the garden behind her's where two bratty kids lived, me and my mate got a tonne of stone's and spelt out 'DICK'S' in big letters on the kid's grass. God know's what their parents thought in the morning! That's just it, if I did that these day's i'd have guilt, immaturity, and no-doubt police on my back..... Street Lee
I've been thinking about this quite a lot recently, I always said I refused to grow up but I think it's happening and I dunno if I like it! I always said I was scared of getting older (can't picture myself at 30 with a wife and kids) and it all came home the other day when I was rushing round like a twat to try and get my mortgage sorted for my first house, after a full day at work. Just made me think maybe 20 is a little too early to be growing up? Maybe I should f**k the house off and go travelling for a couple of year?Don't be in a rush to grow up
CurtisRider
ive just turned 19 and hate it, im stuck in a job i dont really wanan do but have to, im a lazy ass and didnt bother with driving when i turned 17, so im getting pissed off learning to drive now, cos i cant see anyone easily til i pass, my fault i know. i really miss just being like 16 let alone younger, i was still carefree and could do pretty much what i liked, i dont know how i managed to live off virtually no money and still have fun, i guess you lose sight of the little things that make you happy once you start working and can afford to go spend money at pubs and stuff. virtually all my mates have either gone to uni or travelling and i miss them loads kinda makes me regret not going to uni now, im missing out big time, hell i dont even get bugger all chance to ride anymore...maybe it'll all change soon, i bloody hope it does

plainlazy84
what counts as young and what doesnt? I think its more to do with responsibility and attitude in life rather than how old you are. Its probably best to accept that once your out of school/ college/ uni your never going to be as care free as before all that, so its not really worth wasting time feeling down about it. But until you've paying a mortgage, have a "career", and a long term gf/ wife even, there is still plenty of time to be young. A lot of people saying this are like 17, 18, 19- surely you cant feel that old I'm 21 and wouldnt class myself as old, but I guess Im lucky as Im at uni living off a large loan, and not getting up til after Trisha I have worked full time though before and do agree it can kind of suck, and Im not really looking forward to it again but its inevitable. Lewis Poyntontrials.com
I like all the benifits of getting older like being able to drive and fly. I don;t like the downsides like the pressure to work. I would hate to be in a full time job that I didn't enjoy. But it seems sooo many people are
F-Stop Junkie
Am I alone in quite liking being older? Yes, there are downsides, but there's also amazing upsides.I'm in a job I enjoy, though it's certainly hard work. I have my own life with my girlfriend, and I can go anywhere, do anything and live how I want to live. Thanks to my job I also have the means to do it!There's something fulfilling I think about being responsible for yourself and making the best of what you have. plainlazy84
I'd certainly agree with the points about more freedom making being older a lot better. Its so good to know that within reason you have the ability to go anywhere and do anything, when you want- you can make your own decisions. I hated being told what to do when i was younger. I'm not so sure about responsibility being a good thing, but I guess that is down to character and experience. I'm just too lazy and laid back to want lots of responsibilities, and being in education most of my life havent had to deal with real responsibility at work yet (thats going to change next year though) Maybe when I get some it will change my opinion, but I just dont know yet. Greetings
I know it's silly but. It just made me feel sad because i will never do that again and i miss it. Have any of you ever felt that way?I know what you mean... most of all I miss the school outings to castles and museums... ahh and being treated like a kid. I actually got down to lego about half a year ago and built up all the models I had so now they're just standing in the room looking nice. I wouldn't mind being like 10 now, have the current intelect (so that school isn't a problem) and some kind of small trials bike to fit me. That would be awesome... and still like the f*****g snow!!!yoyoyo haha nice avatar, JC in the Atom I was rotfl when I saw his face being "destroyed" in that car edit: have a go at it http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6514168251893889573 Edited February 7, 2006 by Inur
