Yo,

Right at the minute i'm riding a Base TA26 it's a 1060 wheel base i think, well anyway if i was two get a longer frame like a 1080 wheel base would it help me with taps in anyway,

My mates thinks it will and i think it would, I'm currently tapping 40"- 45", with a longer wheel base will i be getting any higher say in the 50's.

I'm still trying to get taps spot on so i can do them every time, also will a longer frame help me in any other way.

P.s i was think of getting a T-rex,

Cheers,

Ben.

its more in the technique... but a longer frame does help a bit.

I have gone from a 1085 control to a 1065 ashton and my taps are still about the same.

ditto i think when you pass the 1055 line in frames its really about your technique on pedaling and how low you are going to tap.. it also helps if you press your brake only when you are as high as you can go on the wall, longer frames will help a little but if youj are comfertable on your base stick with it ..

im pretty sure your base is 1040 ben? my old 1 was,i will measure mine as i have the same setup as you pretty much now :)

anyway, personally i would keep the base, its an awesome comprimise between short street bikes and long bikes cos its not uber short, but not uber long...at least keep yours until it cracks

so my 1010 leeson would be much harder to tap than the 1080 control im getting? if so, yey

Yes but not impossible, i saw that danny mascali(SP?) tap 50" in scotland

porter has a 1050 and he can tap like 53"

Cassio has a 1065 and he can do like 58"

Its not all about the size, its how you use it

does that sound like i wanted it to?

lol, you could have worded that last part better, but who is danny mascali? doesn't porter ride a control, so either 1060 or 1080? but 1010 and 1080 is almost 7cm difference so that would make quite a significant differance rather than changing from 1065-1080 (1.5cm (Y) )

its all in the mind...............(well part of it is :D )

altho a bike with a wheelbase OVER 1040 ish usually will tap better, its hard to describe why but i know it is and i dont want to try confuse you or write something out and it not sound right :P

your base should be no longer than 1050 if it is, either your forks are bent, or you may have measured (if you have) it incorrectly, there usually 1040ish. UNLESS its the old base TA26 thats blue and is very low (one of the first GEN base trials frames)

Waynio............................
