Waynio
they will probably be posted up tomorrow clarky it will give barbara time to do things. as she always has alot of paperwork on and such forth.was a good day, i was dithering between sections helping get rid of ques.good weather too, spots of snow ere n there, and the sun popped out BUT it was chilly all day. id just like to say a big thanx to all the observers who do take their sunday up to observe and specially my GF sarah and Buckys GF shona, they didnt want to observe but did and did a section EACH!!!!!@ one point sarah didnt want to go, and didnt want to not turn up JUST because i couldnt ride, and all in all i had a great day chatting and catching up with people. it would be nice for more and more parents to come forward to observe. if we could get 2 people on each section it would make things pretty good for those observing. they can take it in turns OR like me and fruitbat did on section4 get 2 people going through @ once on diff courses. or things can be done twice as quick with 2. one timing and one punching. things would then get done quicker and trials would finish on time etc etc.BIG big BIG thanks to the young lad and his dad that turned up (really brought back the past to me!!!!) a 5 1/2 year old was riding around on a normal 16" wheel kids bike braving the weather and enjoying himself loads. his dad e-mailed me a bit ago but it was great to speak to him and see his 5 1/2 year old son SO into it and enjoying himself so much!!!!! Waynio...........................1!!!! final thing. i was very impressed and was real kool catching up with my new team mate for 2006 on koxx "James Sheridan" travelled up from RIGHT darn south and braved the weather rode Elite and had a great time. Many thanx to his mum and dad for bringing him, and hes welcome up here any time im sure he'll see this when he gets back. but it just made me think how much dedication the lad and his parents had!!!! to put in a good 10 hour return journey!!!Waynio....................... walker
I had a really good first comp on the leeson, i could moan about the silly 5s but i wont. I went over the handle bars in my dads section, that hurt. I managed to 5 a section due to not having my stem bolts tight enough, stupid!! Thanks to the organisers/observers and section setters.Good to see so many people at the comp with loads of new faces, even if the queues were a bit longer. Im looking forward to the brit champs in 3 weeks time. Also, what does Chris Ratcliffe do with the photos he was taking?-Andrew

Waynio
well done to the little nipper. only 5 years old with balls of steel, one to watch out for in the future I hope.Neil Raven is the father who had e-mailed me when i was in barcelona, and he was telling and asking questions about his young one competing. JUST to see him on a normal 16" wheel MTB made me appreciate trials so much, i sometimes wish i had started at a younger age. i think he is going to the british round aswell so alot of people will probably see him there a very brave effort by the young man.spoke to john peacock this morning and he said robbie had a blinding ride, i only got to see him on a couple of sections, but the prospect for the british in the future is looking VERY very bright!!!! lets hope they all keep up the interest and most of all keep enjoying it.good to hear and see that everyone (from what i could gather) had a great day enjoyed the sections and overall a very positive vibe all round. Thanks. its very appreciative especially in how much hard work goes in its so nice to hear all the positive comments come out of it.Waynio.......................... spunkey_monkey_boy
i've had some brilliant weekends riding trials with alot of you guys and gals who showed up on the weekend but this sunday at addingham was definately my best trial to date, i'm really happy with how i rode, thought the atmosphere was brilliant, eveyone being friendly and chatty and cheersing each other on.that little lad on the red 16" was absiloutely loving it, i really hope he and all the other begginer/novice riders keep coming, its those guys who make the trials worth doing, watching the sprogs race up the ranks.the rider who impressed me the most by a long way was sam oliver, a year ago that kid hadn't entered a comp and was practising 4 pallet ups in the sports hall in north wales, this sunday he rinsed expert and i think he came 4th!!!4th and he's only been riding comps for a year, you big boys better watch your backs because he's going to cause some trouble in the results this year and thats what i love is seeing new riders race up the ranks through pure skill, determination and support.obviously i want to put a huge thank you as always out to barbara, wayne and all the observers and helpers who without them these trials just wouldn't happen.i did hear some complaints about the new 'must bring an observer with you' rule and i can understand why riders are unhappy about it but with observers these events will not happen. all it takes is going to your LBS and spending £40 on a bike rack, put the bikes on the back of the car instead of in it and bring a friend, parent, girlfriend etc with you. ok your going to owe them a few beers but to be fair we all owe those observers a few beers...lastly i want to give a big shout out to a small group of people who really make me smile when i get to trials, all the supportive parents, i dont know many names but ian oliver and jon you two are the kind of people i'm talking about. without the support of parents like you encouraging your kids on and sacrificing your time to make the whole thing happen trials really wouldn't be what it is - keep it up because its support from you guys that will help britain to produce some of the best trials riders the world has ever seensee you all at the next tykestom(oh yes and thank you for my card tom+sams sister) Edited February 27, 2006 by spunkey_monkey_boy

fruitbat
that young lad on the red 16"er put his heart into it. Well done to his dad for giving him so much encouragement!A lot of people i saw on my section IMO could have pushed themselves a bit more, by that i mean they were doing a course which looked too easy for them and they could have moved up a catagory.I have also seen a lot of people improving since last time i was riding. A lot of people, namely Lois Morgan and Chris Boyes, have improved so much since before and its great to see. Well done u2 and so many others in their shoesAs i forgot last post, cheers to Bucky for the lift there FrootyP.S hope not so many cars get stuck at the British round as it was rather fun pushing them out, even if we didn't get to see sexymike motor tip over, lol

PS i didnt ge tto ride yesterday BUT i felt like i had been riding cos the atmosphere kept me alive ALL day.The little lad in question is called Jacub, all he needs is lots of practice and a little encouragement from the big guns like you lot and I am sure he will be pushing Robbie in a bit, His dad is called Matt he is 37 years old I think he came 19th in inter so not bad for a dad. He used to ride 20 years ago before most of you lot wear even thought about. So well done to him and I hope you are not to stiff today pal. You never know I may well have a go myself some day if I can lay my hands on a 20" stranger things have happened, I might even bully Ian Oliver into having a do, what do you reckon Ian ???????Thanks again for all the good feed backSomebody mentioned young Sam Olivers blinding ride, don't forget his little bro Tom, second trial in novice 10 years old and second and that is with an injured hand he will be a force to reckoned with I am sure.John and Robbie
