alexnessie
you want alot for £50!not really, the labtec range of 5.1 speakers are really nice with a decent sub/amp, and they're under fifty quid.i had a set of them before i got my big ones. manuel
Why not just wire up your pc to your HiFi ??? alot better than getting a set of shite speakers for 50 quid.
Walleee
If your getting surround you'lll need to make sure your sound card has enough outputs on it.A bog standard pc will most likely only have one audio output, which won't be enough. For instance if you want a 5.1 speaker set up, you'll need at least a 5.1 soundcard.I used to endeavor to have a cracking audio setup on my PC, now I just don't see the point because my seperate's system will surpass anything i've ever heard. Any videos im watching are going to be compressed so the audio doesnt need to be able to go as low as with say a DVD and if I want to listen to music ill throw on a CD.....Startig up windows with surround sound can be interesting
deagledaddy
This would be the sorta thing which might well do the job well, I know several people including my self who have used/use this make. the subs are generally very good bass etc. good value really too no point in surround, odds of setting it up with speaker cables all over the place is low really, as it looks gash etc. 2.1 is good enough

And being 500w (the 3.1's are 300ish) they are great for annoying my housemates no distortion even at max volume.

trialsriderjim
while we are on this topic can any tell me where to get a sub and speakers for my mac ?cheers jimmy
Danny
Anything that works for pc should work fine on a mac pending its soundcard. If the mac has front/rear/sub outputs or optical/coaxal then you should be good for a 5.1 setupIf it only has front/mic/linein then your stuck with 2.
