JTM
Just got a S video to phono type video cable. Plugged it into back of pc via s video out and into scart on telly. Now whe I tur pc on, it shows on the telly, but in black and white. It does this till it comes to the windows loading screen, with the litle moving bar at the bottom. It then clicks into colour o the telly, but the goes off when windows loads???Ive tried checking the settings, its a NiVida graphis card but cant seem to get it to work. Theres flickers etc o the telly but no picture and the pc is recognising my connection method as s video etc. Any ideas?
Hoot
I had this problem, but when i changed my graphics card it was okay. Try getting some gold plated s-video leads etc, or try connecting it through your video player if you have one. As you stated it works for a few seconds, it could be a number of things, like your screen resolution, or the tv format being set to NTSC when you t.v is pal. Krisboats
well by the way it changes from not working to working then back to not working again, i would think its most likely a software issue rather than anything being wrong with your cable. I mean it works for a brief second or two so theres obviously nothing wrong with your current cable.Try updating your graphics drivers, depending on your card and how old the drivers are it might have been an issue thats already been addressed and corrected, so the new drivers should sort it out. Head over to the nvidia website for the latest drivers. Also see if theres any settings on there that you need to change for it to work properly. Right click the desktop and click properties>settings tab> advanced> graphics card model tab> then have a look at these settings to see if theres anything you can do to change it.
