Will Arnold
i like to consume acohol for the light and relaxed feeling i get from it. it means i can socialise in a more relaxed way but when people get completely smashed, whats the point?whats your view?taWill
plainlazy84
For the most part a few beers and social drinking is good stuff cant beat a pub with a good aptnosphere and good people around you, having a drink or two. Getting smashed can still be a lot of fun, with hilarious concequences- even if your the only ones laughing! Definitly wouldnt do it all the time, but now and again its always a lot of fun what about if its a themed night, does that make it more acceptable? Like we played pub golf last Thursday and made it round 9 holes (pubs) in a very short space of time, dressed as golfers. That = untold carnage. Without that amount of alcohol down me you'd never normally find me break dancing on top of the bar at weatherspoons. Everyone was beyond smashed- but it had a point, and was great fun! munkee
i dont bother with light drinking, beer and most forms of alcohol taste like shit to me and i dont need the extra calories just to have a conversation with someone. Im sure there are better places to talk to someone than a pub filled with smoke and booze.. however probably once a month or depending when theres a lot of people out ill go for it and get wrecked as f**k. Just for the randomness and crap that happens that night that would never happen normally. So yea... i use alcohol purely for the drug effects.. not to sit and talk to someone about what happened today at work.
Janson
a few drinks in social purposes is always nice.getting smashed is a completely different story. you'd have to be in a certain mood, really willing to let it all go and just go for gold. it can be hilarous if you're a few people doing it, not as fun doing it on your own.drinking is weird for me, either makes me fairly happy or really, really depressed. 1a2bcio8
I agree with you Mr Arnold. I prefer alcohol as a means to enhance conversation. Strip away a few of the tensions of life and release the tongue from it's social bindings. I used to love getting hammered though. It was amusing initially. Something new and all that. Feels a bit of a waste though these days. Not very progressive to your life, in fact quite the opposite. And I hate commiting the following day to a hangover. Find it difficult to get on with much. Will Arnold
cool, its good to hear some views on it alot of people i know dont have a life outside of getting drunk and going to work lol, sad but true. so, going to work to pay for getting drunk = madness imo anyways, maybe im not looking close enough or im being very arrogant, either way, i dont want to end up drinking and getting mullered every weekend like all my mates want me to. they just seem to get mashed every weekend.i enjoy parties and stuff, and having a few drinks, but i got completely mashed the other week with mates, which was all well and good, untill i had a look at the footage on my video camera, lol. what a bunch of idiots. lol.ah well, thats outta my system, im going riding Will
Ali C
I dont see the point in going out every weekend.I dont drink (last time I did was nearly a year ago) but when I do drink I go all out and get smashed as its a rare feeling to be like that and can make a nice change. But I find going to the pub with a couple of mate REALLY boring!! I dont wanna sit and talk, I wanna do somthing!

Find it difficult to get on with much.AgreedI can't see the point of going out to get drunk now, it's expensive and makes you feel like shit the next day. If i go out saturday and get wrecked i basically loose the whole of sunday to feeling like shit - for no good reason.I genuinely like drinking lager for the taste, so going to the pub for a few pints and a good laugh is my idea of a fun night out. If people want to get drunk around me i'm all for it (it's usually amusing) as long as they leave me to drink how I want to.Dan
Michael Hardman
I go out to have a drink to socialise not to get wasted.Anyone that goes out constantly to get plastered on purpose I couldnt give a toss about, there just going to die young so let them more world for me.Plastered every now and again is acceptable as your body will repair itself. Its funny in the morning when you can tell them what they did and embarrass them lol
anzo
I do see a point, especially on a Friday night. My missus will come round and we'll have a few drinks, depending how I feel I sometimes just get bladdered. It's a nice ending to a week at work, a good way to relax. I don't really drink beer much, I do like it, but some people are right on here in that it does taste like shit.It is a pointless think, making yourself ill, in effect, but if it was SO bad, why would we do it so often for hundreds of years. Simpson
Right at a party you will always realise how the 1st 30-45mins of the party is shit. No-one talks and if it is its just like guys banter andthe fit girls on the sofa. After the 30-45 mins the party starts people start talking and finding convosation easier talking about what what you want. then later on well...... whatever happens happens lots of stupid jokes, pranks, smoking cigars, dancing singing, "swing low sweet charriot" or "the national anthem" however there is a line where some people take it too far i.e. being sick and stuff, when i go i feel like a see-saw you can feel yourself going i have 1 or 2 more then stop that was u dont really get hangovers or anythingi wouldnt say i did it regularly at all just at partys every 3 weeks or so? have a great time i no you can have that fun witout alcahol just easier wid
Josephine
I went to a party of a mate's on friday night and didn't drink because I was driving, but just being in the relaxed social situation made me less inhibited, cue stupid dancing and nonsensical conversations, and joyfully I remember it all and regret nothing, no alcohol required! Having said that I like a drink occasionally, went round to Jian's last night for a few beers and a film and it was a good laugh. So I'm all for drinking in moderation, but I find nothing more pathetic than some idiot who overdid it saying "I'll never drink again..." Walleee
When I was younger, and now consider myself a kid, I used to go out every saturday or friday night with a group of friends, get a carry out, get wrecked, and then end up trying to get some action. Sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. I havn't the time for it anymore. If I go out for the night, upuntill a few weeks ago i'd have drank pints at a fairly average rate i'd say. Recently I started drinking white russians, and because they are just so nice, they are gone in less than 15 minutes. At a rate of 4 an hour (each one being a double) and me at my mere 8.5 stone for a 19 yr old, it doesn't take long to work out that that will get me fairly bolloxed.I do tend to keep it under control and I know myself well, so even if I am going to hurl, i'll know to go and get some piece and quiet, get it out of me, and once that's done im back on form.Hangover's are the main sticking point for me. I hate waking up dry mouthed, and drinking also has a terrible effect on my skin in that it goes horribly dry, call me a poof, but i have to moisturise at the best of time. Last week a hangover stopped me going out for a ride, then developed into a full blown chest infection, so i've told myself to take it easy for a few weeks, and when I so start drinking again, i'l be keepin' 'er sweet. Michael Hardman
Yep Im lucky and only get hangovers when drinking pints, therefore I dont and stick to the sweet drinks.I hate wine as its makes me hurl, bad experiance so will only have it with a meal.I know my limits and 5 doubles will get me in a talkative and dancing mood then its jsut red bull aftert that
NeillyB
Why get wrecked?Because you can take pictures of your mates doing stupid stuff on the walk home.He jumped off this and utterly f**ked his ankles, but he was drunk, so it was fine! Hooray!
porn*
hmm i must be part of a very few on here that do love to go out and have a beer........to often thought it ends up as beers, then tequila, jd and cokes, sambuka, etc etc and can get rather messy....... maybe because i have scottish blood running through me....meh i duno boo yer
Danny
I have a good relationship with alcohol and it treats me well.I go out social drinking regulary for example i went home this weekend (Thurs-Sun) and met up with mates who i hadnt seen since chrimbo and spent a few hours in the pub each night (4 Pints or so) aswell as meeting some for lunch with a pint.Yes sometimes i go out and get hammered on special occasions ie my 21st the other week and drink large amounts but i never drink to the point im sick. Some people just drink drink drink then end up throwing up everywhere which tends to just ruin the night. Its far better if its a good night with lots of wobbly walking and a kebab on the way home. No mess, no carrying people home just good fun.
