petit_pablo
Ive put my new front end together tonight.New zoo forks, onza rim built on hope pro 2 hub and a hope mono trial disc brake. When i tested the front brake out, there is a rocking "somethings not tight feel" on the front end.I checked the headset (fine), the disc on the hub (tight) and the disc calliper (tight).Could it be the hub rocking slightly when under load?Any help? Joe Papasnap Maher
Undo the stem clamp bolts....do the topcap bolt up......pull front brake...see if it still rocks..if so...do the bolt up tighter...The when it stops rocking make sure it isnt to stiff and do up the clamp bolts again. Lawnmowerman
It's the pads moving around inside the caliper. Don't worry about it

Lawnmowerman
To check your heaset do it all up and turn your bars so your wheels at 90 degrees then rock the bike back and forth without the brake on
Will Arnold
It's the pads moving around inside the caliper. Don't worry about it he speaketh the truth!
PaRtZ
Well I had a similar problem a while ago, and it was the stem had loosened. But if you've tightened that (and its the right sized headset ) Im guessing its the pads
ScotchDave
If everything is tight it is almost certainly your brake, the best way to check this is to turn the wheel to 90 degrees with the frame, then try rocking it again. If it still rocks I have no idea if it doesn't then it's almost definitely the brake.
