1a2bcio8
I'm not sure what's actually humour here and what's not. I'd hope everyone doesn't see America, as a whole, a bad place. It has it's bad elements, mainly that reside in the government and rich elites, but that's just the same here in the UK. We inject unsustainable amounts of polution into the world as well. We also use unsustainable amounts of energy. We also went to war and are still occupying Iraq. We sell arms to dictators and countries involved in civil war. We kill for political gain in what effectively constitutes as terrorism. The list goes on and on. Perhaps we're the lesser of two evils in some sense, but that doesn't mean we're not evil, in some sense.

flange
We'll all be dead before pollution does anything really bad, don't worry about it BINGO Mr BushI'm assuming this was typed with a sense of irony? Otherwise have you thought that although you might be dead, your children might not? A good example (ironic or not) of the typical american attitude of 'it won't affect me so why should I bother'. This can also be listed under 'It might affect me but I know my rights and I don't have to do anything you idiots tell me' and also 'It will affect me and my kids but I'm too stupid to do something about it'. America blows full stop. I've lived in both and without question America and for the most part, Americans, are ignorant and greedy. Theres no humour intended in this post by the way, its all my opinion. Which of course you're entitled to in America as long as you don't say anything that might provoke thought. Or rational behaviour. Or a reflection on moral values and decency

You don't know shit about my country, thats for sure. Nothing that you see on TV about america is real, no one here even likes george bush. I could walk for hours asking people if they like our president and get a 20 to 1 ratio of people saying they don't. Honestly you are talking like some little 17 year old know it all who has no idea about the world...just shut the f**k up, sit back and try to figure out how the internet works noob. I know plenty about your country (my dads American) and I'm duel citizenship. I don't know shit? Have I witnessed the wastage that goes on in 'your country' with regards to energy, food and resources. Have I noticed 'Your country's' actions on foreign policy as reported through 'Your own press'? Er, yes, yes I have. Should I go on?There's only one person rising to the bait my man and thats you. Your post is a mass of contradictions. You post saying how nothing you've put is serious, then defend your country stating that I 'don't know shit'? Argue all you like. No doubt shocking but over here we are entitled to our opinion. Greetings
This is probably going a bit offtopic but still it's my view on the subject. In high school, having a bi-lingual course we got a native speaker who was from the US. Very eccentric chap, interesting, had a hairstyle you'd expect from an inspired violinist. As he was just at school to talk to us, most of the questions we asked him were about the states. It was so interesting, most of us had an impression as if America was a completely different world, which it probably is in many respects. At the end of our course, the chap gave us an american maturity examination paper from english (the exam you take when you're finishing high school). It was so basic, most of us didn't get below 90% He also gave us some examination papers from other subjects. Well the conclusion was simple - comparing to the knowledge we had to have on our A-Levels, it was nothing. And so my quesion is - if the high-school education level is so low, how can we expect people to know where france and iran is? I took geography on my A-Levels and they didn't require us to learn where the USA is, where Mongolia or Chile is. This kind of knowledge isn't something you learn at school and then write an exam. This is something you learn when you get through life... read on...The video Onzaboymark posted shocked me. I couldn't believe it. I understand if the chap there confused spain with germany, but to put france and iran in australia? Australia is a country damnit... Don't people in the US know that? I'm sure many do (and in this vid there where people who knew what they were talking about). My explenation for this maybe is far fetched. IMO it's because you are self-sufficient, you've got GMC, loads of oil or gas (as you say it ), don't need to import any products from europe, have a huge variety of locations to choose your holidays from, and basically can lead a very good life without leaving your country.I read an article recently about the unemployment rate in the US. I think it's about 4.6% now, nevertheless it's very low. And aparently it's raising the inflation level, so the government want's to increase the unemployment... I mean most countries have big problems with having to reduce it, whereas you want to increase it... Just a OT.uff...

AndyT
here is my stance on america (semi-serious post here):the mainstream culture is horrible...most hollywood movies are horriblefast food is horriblefat people everywhere is horriblethe "big" beers are all horrible.mainstream people are generally not very educated, this is who you see in the news (fat stupid americans). They like the new big blockbuster movies, going out to some gay theme restaurant with 4 pound hamburgers and watching football.there are tons of different kinds of people here, thank god. I know tons of people from other countries.this leads to alot of different food, which I enjoy thoroughly. In my town I can just walk the block going from irish, british, thai, chinese, filipino, etheopian, moroccan, japanese, greek, portugeuse, italian (southern, northern..), anything you could think of.we also get alot of imports for beers - I drink mostly english, belgian and french beers. Not too many are on tap/ draught but some places have over 110 beers on tap. This is good. Budweiser is bad. There is a wide variety of people in this country. It is basically like 25 different countries; seriously. Every state is very different; just like countries in europe. It is a huge place...basically no one goes around America and can say they've been everywhere. People live in their own state their whole lives and never visit more than 3-4 other states. I can go to another state and not even understand what the people are saying...different language, different culture, different country. Just like if you went down to france for a week.If you were in south carolina, mississippi, any horrible place like that you would probably be calling me a nigger because thats all there is there. not really....that was a joke. There are great things about the south and horrible things about the south. just like every place.the place i live in is the skinniest place in america. there are beautiful people everywhere. There are major mountains all around me for snowboarding/skiiing. Everyone here is nice , they smile and say hi to you as you walk down the street.the place I grew up in was like an industrial area. People were very mean; no one made eye contact or held open doors or anything. Everyone was super fat...the place I grew up was new jersey, just outside of new york city which i went to frequently. New jersey is a 4 hour plane ride away from here, over 2000 miles away. I can't go home on the weekend. Where would you be if you drove 24 hours straight (the distance to my house)? Not in england.when I was young, my school was 1.5 hour drive away. 40 miles each way. 80 miles a day just to get to school. Gas is "cheap" here. I doubt any of you drive 3 hours a day to go to school....I can drive 12 hours and be in the same state, there are 50 states. Think about that.there is no culture in america, whatever "culture" there is = trashthere is no support of the arts in americathe job market is fantastic, you can be anything you want to be. literally..start a business up in a flash, do whatever you want.people work hard, very hard, for moneythey don't enjoy life at all; work hard, die...work 40-70 hours a week; hard.all this work leads us to a great economy, but shitty lives. No time for family. No time for exercise. No time for eating right.our president is a retard, but nothign I can do. I didn't vote for him.you could come to my house right now, rape and kill me and I wouldn't care. It has nothing to do with being an american but being myself. I'm sure my neighbours wouldn't like being raped and killed but my personal disposition is who gives a shit...nothing to do with american sentiments...I would probably fight you but if you won hey good job, things happen. That is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard you say, without geography you wouldn't be able to louch or land those contraptions you call space ships.dude read what you just wrote, it's absolutely hilarious. Everyone knows where space ships leave from :hsugh: . Geography is probably the last thing on anyones mind when launching.btw, 99% of americans are astronauts Incorrect, for example hurricanes are increased by glodal warming. As are floods.Yeah, Lots of hurricans and floods in colorado. I'm only a few thousand miles away from any sort of large body of water.
