rickycoleman
I always used magura mineral oil which felt ok, but after a while felt a bit resistant to pull. Then i was bullied into using water and it is honestly better. feels alot less resistant makes it alot easier to bleed brakes..imo.
Walleee
Im still half asleep here, so may be wrong, but I think I know what waynio etc are getting at.Pour a glass of water before bed, put it aside somewhere, and in the morning observe the bubbbles which have formed on the side of the glass. If you were to bleed your brakes with the same water, straight from the tap, not having left it out overnight, would the same thing happen once inside the brakes? I would assume so.Like someone else said, these bubbles are very small indeed, and their effect on the braking performance should be negligible. Due to the fact that most, if not all frames, will flex under braking its very hard to tell, from the lever, wether it is the fluid compressing, or the stays flexing. Doesn't make any differance to me, never had to bleed any magura's i've had.
Krisboats
I thought that was because of the air reacting with the top layer of the water , if thats true then it shouldn't do it in a magura because its a sealed system . Don't quote me on that though.
