wardie
as loctite doesnt seem to work on my crank bolts i was wandering if thread lock tape would do the trick, it would obviousy have to lock well, which it does but is it easy to remve too.sam
Ash-Kennard
no, don't loctite it, you will never get them off. just do them up tighter, find an old handlebar and just slide it onto the allenkey and do it up, not too tight or you will rip the threads out. feest
Make sure that you lube them up before replacing or they might start creaking

mike
what i found is, use loctite, but don't put it on the thread, put it on the underside of the head, and do it up really tightly, i use an old hoover attatchment, which extends to about 5' and it di it up really tightly.Mike!!! montyrider
i used to get this all time its really annoying i know. clean all your contact areas on your crank internals and your bottom bracket, clean the threads on you bottom bracket and crank bolts just make sure they're free all the grimey black stuff. buy some really strong loctite which you can borrow from your local garage im sure, put it on your bolt then do it up mega tight but of course mind you dont thread your bottom bracket or snap the head of your bolt! NOT GOOD! leave it for about an hour or so and just pray it works lol.

wilky_mod_legend2
Hello sam,Hows it going?Well, what i do is, take bolt out wack a bit of grease on thread, and do it up as tight as you can, then top tip: Stand on allen key, use your weight, it does them up super tight with out having to use any thing else.hope this helpedcheers wilky

DeeZee
Top tip: Stand on allen key, use your weightcheers wilkyYup, you'll never do up the bolt by hand to anything near tight enough. You need a proper bar, or in the absence, stand on the allen key.
