CurtisRider
Hi, I am thinking of buying a new zona zip, i will need to build it up and i am unsure of which make of the following to buy:tires-creepy crawlers 30-35 a pairStem-not sure due to bb rise, but i guess a t master stem would be mighty fine -about 25 i thinkBashgaurd-get an echo bash on you cranks-20Bottom bracket-127 shimano un52Chain and chain tensioners-kmc kool and any bmx style tensioner should do-10 for chain, 10 for tensioners topsCranks-i really liked the 04/05 echo cranks 50Cog-ermmm frent or rear? both around the 10-15 mark i thinkies, theres not much difference between makesHandle bars-i really liked my old truvativ hussefelts that were on my monty, they felt far superior to any other bar i tried in terms of shape-but that was just meGrips-personal preference reallyBoosters-heatsink Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Allen. Mark W
Time to bugger it up Tyres: Maxxis Creepy Crawler (rear). £18 or so, varies. www.chainreactioncycles.com seem cheapTry-All (front). £19.99 Lighter than the Maxxis front, and works better up front than the Maxxis tread. www.tartybikes.co.uk or www.cleanbikes.co.ukStem: Onza T-Master stem (works well with the higher BB). £24.99 www.supercycles.co.uk or www.tartybikes.co.ukBashguard: Zona or Onza bashguard, not too sure how much, but they're available from wherever you're gonna get your frame from; probably around £10-15, or if you get he Tensiles, don't bother with one, as they come with a little bashring on them already. www.supercycles.co.uk or www.tartybikes.co.ukBottom bracket: FSA Platinum Pro DH ISIS BB, 73x128 (comes with a spacer to make it fit your BB shell, which is 68mm) £39.99 www.tartybikes.co.uk (not listed on site)Chain and chain tensioners: KHE Collapse Pro (12% more tensile strength than the Kool), £14 from www.pijin.co.uk. 10mm chain tugs are £5.99 for two, from www.alansbmx.com, www.pijin.co.uk, or similarCranks: Tensile Urban Legend cranks, w/UCI bashring, £109.99 (I think)Cogs: ACS Claw, 18t, £10 from www.supercycles.co.ukHandle bars: Has to be the Onza carbon fibre risers. The T-Master and the riser combo are *awesome*, but maybe too pricey? £50 or so for the bars, from either www.supercycles.co.uk or www.tartybikes.co.uk Grips: Brahma grips. 4 for £5 (think it was £5 before, anyway), nice and thin from www.supercycles.co.ukBooster: Echo Team 2-bolt booster £29.99, www.selectbikes.com or www.tartybikes.co.ukAlmost exactly the same setup as my Zona, and that rides seriously nicely. Wouldn't have a problem recommending that setup to anyone
Caleb
Yeah mark has it spot on theyre, only thing id change would be to zoo bars as theyre cheaper and stronger.maybe an eno when you can fford it too.definitely dont get a zoo stem, they ride so badly on a zona frame, you'll want a t-master one, i run one and its mint.Forks :echo/gu/zoo etc all pretty much the same.if on a budget monty disc forks £

Fair point about the bars. The sweep of the Zoo bars didn't fully do it for me though... Maybe the Montys? Who knows Word about the stem, too. The stem felt super low on the T-Pro, so on the Zip with the BB rise, it'd be like your bars were on the floor T-Master stem (Or get the Echo Team stem instead if you want, seeing as it's the same but more expensive, gloss-black and has "Team" on it ) compliments the frame really well though. skye_trials
Hi and thanks for the replys so far.I have got a 04 onza t-bird and am now considering keeping that and use parts of that to save a bit of money as i don't have a job and therefore don't have a lot of money lol, so my so my question is how much of the onza bits will fit the zona? i am really sorry if this has annoyed anybody after going to so much trouble to find the parts for me and the prices, i will upgrade to thoughs bits when i get the money though.Cheers Allen
Mark W
All my prices were off the top of my head, and I'm guessing it was from most people - you just sorta know stuff like that after a while With the T-Bird, it depends what you've got in terms of backwheel size (19" or 20"), and whether you've got the 22t front chainring cranks or if you've got front freewheel. If you've got the 19" rear wheel, you're fine. If not, you're going to need a new rim or whole back wheel. Also, if you've got the 22t chainring, that'll be too big, so you'll probably need to go front freewheel anyway to have it all fit on, which would work out at about £50 including cranks and freewheel, then a little more for the sprocket for the rear.Other than that, everything should fit

skye_trials
Ok, i am just trying to make loses ends meet, i am going to keep my onza for definite now, all my parts will fit but my cranks, which should i buy? also i am not 100% sure what chain i have got it just says '2E' on it which means nothing to me, will this one fit the zona? also freewheel, which one? Where will i get the best deal on a zona, i have looked at the 'christmas deal' at tarty bike which seems good. Thanks Allen
mat hudson
get some tensiles.and as a front freewheel an eno is the best you can get.
PaRtZ
get some tensiles.and as a front freewheel an eno is the best you can get.Hmm thats not technically true, because a chris king _pwns (as you use) the eno's experiance, but for the money + effort, FFW + eno is probably the best
