Sidehops

Thanks for all your help guys, and I know this is completely off topic but can anyone give me any ideas to help my balance on the back wheel, like things I can practice?

Just ride :) The more you ride, the more time you're out there doing it, so the more time you've got to train your muscles to do it, and hone your reflexes so you learn how to move your body-weight around to keep balanced. If you're specifically looking for any 'exercise' type things you can do, just try hopping around using the blobs on pavements. Just get up on the back wheel, and then try and hop onto the spots - not just forward, but to the sides, diagonally, backwards, etc. All that ability to manipulate your bike translates into more control, which means you can just hold it on the back end for longer.

edit!: blue pallets are a little bit higher than normal pallets btw lee.

yeah but only slightly, like maybe 1inch, and it won't make much difference to you untill you start to pile them up, and eventually say when you get about 7 pallets, it'll be about the height of 8 normal pallets, i prefere using the normal pallets, they're a lot lighter to move around, and slightly thinner.

I've ignored side hops for the past 6 months or so and I just started doing them yesterday and did 3 blue crates on my 3rd ever side hop :P and found out I am actually quite good, except I just go from back wheel without pedaling. Just get your balance on your back wheel and when you are comfortable with your position just push down and spring up. So yeah, do what OBM said ^^^.

Mark, do you sidehop with your drive side facing the wall or is that a switch sidehop

just wondered :P Gav

Haha, ideal time to blag it and go "Yeah, that was 44" opposite" :P Nah, that's the way I do it. I know I know, I "Should" do it towards my bad foot, but I find it way more comfortable doing it that way...
