mat hudson
well, i would say only get the ebc's if your brake isnt working well enough. what size rotor have you got at the mo?

mat hudson
well, if the price difference isnt that much(i just looked it up and it isnt ) id go for the ebc's. better performance, similar price

Mark W
I was thinking about going for the EBC's, 'specially when someone put up a link about them being only £14 from some place. Anyways, thing is is that I've got an Avid BB7 with a 203mm rotor on my mod, so it's pretty hench as it is, so I may stick with the standards if the EBCs don't seem to last as long, maybe... Caleb
yeah the ebc are like £11 , search ebs brakes on google and youll find the place, 10% off jobby.however i think you can now get the avid ultimate? pads for them, from wggle which were hyped up a few months ago.minse is stupidly powerful anyway so wouldnt dream of changing hehe. Tomm
Do people actually have experience with EBC pads? Everyone says "yeah they're better than the standard ones", but has anyone tested this? The only Avid I have used with EBCs was very underwhelming, but that could have been something completely unrelated.
Mark W
I think I or someone else made a thread on it a while back, and there was a lot of positive reviews from EBC-users in there.
tank_rider
I've got them in my avid mechanical and to be honest the difference was barely noticeable. If you need new pads as yours have worn out then it would be worth getting them, but if your current avids have life left in them then i wouldnt bother. I've found replacing the cable has made the biggest difference to the performance of my brake.

totaltrials
I have tested the EBC red pads, for a good few months too.I can safely say the Avid pads are far better.I wasn't happy with the EBC pads after a long time, they just didnt have the bite I could remember the avid pads used to have, the avid pads lasted me over a year they did get worse the longer I had them but still worked. So I ended up putting my old chipped avid pads back on and I noticed the difference straight away, for sure the avid pads are better, no doubt about it myself.Phil. JT!
cheers mate! any news on the spring thingy?I got a spare. But you do get them with pads.Do people actually have experience with EBC pads? Everyone says "yeah they're better than the standard ones", but has anyone tested this? The only Avid I have used with EBCs was very underwhelming, but that could have been something completely unrelated. My brake has been just as crap with both pads. The EBC reds were slightly better. But nothing that'd make me rush out and buy them.
