Shez.sheridan
Right I've had enough, my monty has ate my knees for the last time - I think it could be a combination of my etnies & pedals more than the bike; but the problem still stands - my bike is mullering my knees.I used to wear pads many moons ago, and I need some suggestions...which should I go for?Same with gloves, I may as well wear fingerless ones as I run my original GT ones into the ground - anyone have any suggestions on a good pair of gloves?Grazie mille per tutti in advance,Derv. Brian Bleech
gloves -best just going into a shop and trying a bunch on really, everyone has different shaped hands. ligher weight xc ones tend to be better though.shin pads - for winter/colder weather i use tsg neopene ones and they are great, lasted me years. For summer i use fox knee/shin ones (around £20) with the knee bits chopped off.knee pads - i don't use them but i would reccomend looking at bmx sites for so ones that don't have a hard shell as a lot of people fine they restrict movement. Monty_susanne
The gloves From FOX are good gloves, comfortable and good quality .....Dunno how expensive they are but have a look...... //Suss
henri estonia
Troy lee designs xc gloves are well comfy but they arnt that strong, but they fit my hand perfectly and feel nice. But if you want something strong then you would have to go for some motocross ones like fox, thor, troy lee grand prix
anzo
I have some 661's, not sure what model they are...Halfords, 20 quid.Although, I don't really like them, they seem too bulky. When I did moto-trials I had both Hebo Teams and another Hebo set which were like a spandex material, close to the skin and all that, which a fair bit of protection.I hardly ever used them as they were so thin that the vibration of the bike went straight though it and it annoyed me, however now I can't find them.I'd love to have them for my bike and its like you're not wearing gloves at all. I got them on a trip to Spain, never ever seem them in the UK, and I've never known anyone else to have a pair and I have also never seem them on the internet...so, pretty rare.Although I guess there will be millions of gloves like that, but just not Hebo ones...and obviously not as sexy. Concussion
I find football shin pads are a good option, cheap and comfortable and most come with ankle type protection.Admittedly your trying to protect the knee....I'd go for the 661 Veggie knee wraps combined with the shin pads.Gloves- Not a big fan, but Fox and Troy Lee would be my choice for comfort and protection. Mark W
http://www.bvm-moto.co.ukHebo Trial Team gloves. Seamless palms, and they've got stretchy stuff between the top bit of material for the fingers and the bottom, so there's stretch room there so they don't just tear the stitching apart. Mine have barely worn at all, and they're pretty old. Not overly hot or cold, just sorta right, really. But yeah, nice thin palms so it doesn't feel like you're holding a tree-trunk, and fairly thin backs so they don't bunch up or anything. Really, really good gloves.
