firstly this isnt a when will i be moderated topic i was just wondering if there was any pattern to mederating people as i have seen some people with 150 plus posts but they are still pre-members. is being moderated an automatic system or does all the admin have to check everyones posts and see if they have been good enough to get moderated.

cheers

There read your post over a week or so if there think your not just wannang to buy then you can come on if not there you have to wait for a long time hint hint :ermm:.Joined: 30/06/2005-14/01/06

It's done in a subjective manner, basically, there's no fixed number of posts you have to get to before you can be validated. For instance I've validated people after as few as 3 good quality well thought out posts, yet there remain people in here with hundreds of posts that are all tripe.

Basically if you type well and behave in a good manner, one of the mods or admin will spot this and validate you.

The way i validate is if i see a good post from you i go back and look at your recent posts and see if they are also good, if they are, i'll turf you into the members area (Y)

Apparently quite a while back, Tom and Danny were both too busy to keep on reading through people's post's and found it hard to keep up so left the forum open to people that had just joined and it put them as a member straight away. It was something like this anyway i'm not 100% sure to be honest..

It has never ever been like this. True, a year or two back, the validation system didn't exist at all, but the forum had loads of problems with text talk and people signing up to ruin the whole forum with spam.

Getting validated in a day isn't a miracle of god you know, if you post good you can get validated in a few hours, as quite a few people have been on here.

It's about the quality of posts not the quantity, it's all described somewhere if you look.

WOOHAY!!! Listen to this guy (Y) If you are helpful and type it in a suitiable way, no probs. Be patient. The heatsinks owner steve, he did really helpful posts and topics and got validated instantly (so i have heard from 'onzaboymark'). I think there should be a another sticky or announcement to say how to get validated.
