Siders77
These seem really good. Bennifer made a thread a while back about it. It's good because you can have a look at the control panel and stuff to see how easy/hard it is to use. sniffhost.net
tomturd
Check out this place - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4Loads of people offering silly priced hosting, i'd personally go for the 'industry standard' cpanel for a control panel if you can get it (most people offer it)

Siders77
Nope, it's just a normal hosting server.

Id go for something which specifies how much bandwidth you are allowed.
Simon
There is *nix and Windows servers. *nix meaning Linux, Unix, then Unix based system's like the most common, Red Hat, and FreeBSD. You don't really need to be concerned with the OS though, unless it ask's, in which case, not Windows. Both are as good as each other, but *nix always has the upper hand. You only get Windows if you need Windows specific stuff, like .NET or such bollocks.*nix is always cheaper too, as it's open source, and Windows isn't, and therefor the company has to pay for license's as with any Windows OS. Greetings
try and get a server without data transfer limits. i got one of mine (333mb) with unlimited transfer for the equivalent of 11 pounds/year. used up 140gb of transfer in one day, something that would have cost me loads of money with a provider that charges for data transf.basically, with a data transf. of 1.5-3gb per month, you will be unable to set up a web with many photos and some vids, because you will get locked in no time. my site eats up about 1 gig of transfer each day, and its not hugely popular, because it gets no more than 100 hits a day.that's one of the advantages of living in a retarded country - one can buy good stuff for nothing
