mat hudson
well, i pulled the freehub boddy, it wouldnt move, so i gave it a good sharp tug and 3 springs made a leap for freedom. i found one it looks like a biro spring. could i use a biro spring instead. i'll keep looking for the propper ones cheers, a very annoyed mat
Onza Kieron
Yep you can use biro springs but they're only £3 to replace.
ScotchDave
Biro springs ar a bit of a bodge, I would try and find the original springs, or buy some more.
mat hudson
found some springs that were the same width but a little stiffer, anyway, all good now, and mr hope xc says roooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
nmt_oli
Biro springs are good, and if there stiffer that will help stop skips.DO remove old grease, but DO NOT run the hub dry, you will just wear it our quickly. throughaly clean and regrease the freehub carrier, and the ratchet bed, and either use something like finish line wet lube, or a thin smeer of grease around the ratchet bed, and little dabs in the pawl carriers.
