minitrialer
Hi, i am currently making a site selling a few media orientated bits n bobs. I was thinking, well, seriously considering, about selling from a pay-pal account on the site, i am aware they take a percentage plus about 30p of your sales, but that isn't too much, and i am posting to see if anyone has any information on it, has used it or knows of any pro's or con's.Thanks. minitrialer
Thats basically what it is isn't it . I want a shopping basket/checkout etc. on my site when they go to checkout they then get directed to paypal then get re-directed back to my site. Thats the idea i have any way. When you say rubbish, why is it rubbish? cheers
tomturd
Yeah you can do that pretty easy. They even set up the shopping cart for you... first step is sign up to paypal, the rest is easy

Hobnobs
Depends what type of account you have as to how much they take from you. I have a business account and they take 4% ish, it sucks. If you wanted a proper e commerce system made by a real web designer, youll be shelling out £1000+, so paypal is by far the better option. minitrialer
i take it biketrialco is your site then? I just had a look at your site and added something to my basket and then it re directed me to the paypal site, thats what i thought would happen, so you must have the account that i want then. Sounds good. You only pay when you sell an item don't you? Cheers
br3n
As phil has pointed out to custom create a full ecomerce system with shopping basket etc (like selectbikes have) is a lengthy and costly job, There are however millions of freeware ecomerce systems available on the internet you simply have to find the right one and set everything up.The good thing about paypal is its a company nearly everyone knows and a large majority of people buying on the web allready have an account. I could be wrong but I think they cover you against fraud etc.Me and simon (the guy behind trials-shack) created the BTC site so if your interested in something similar or just some information feel free to pm.br3n
