Tyres

I need new tyres and ive never bought 26" ones before (only just gone stock). I'm after some high roller or minions i think, judging from other peoples opinions. Been on CRC and found super tacky 42a and slow reezay 40a. I want them to last as long as possible, is there much difference between both styles? And also would you recommend high roller or maxxis for rear?

Oh, and would a 2.7 tyre fit in an echo control '04?

Cheers!

To be fair a 2.7 is abit over kill ;)

Just get front and back maxxis minion super tacky's Had mine about 3 weeks and no signs of wear (i know that isnt exactly amazing, but meh. I usually get a rear maxxis lasting about 6 months. :)

Ive also heard good things about michelin comp 24's for the wear rate and grip compromise :)

Super Tacky (42a) seem to last fine and grip very well, and I have heard that the 40a wear out much quicker. Just make sure you get the dual ply for the back. And as Tom said, 2.7 is probably overkill. I had one on my 24" and it folded all the time, though that was on a pretty narrow rim (32mm or something).

Meh I say get some highroller 60a, I've had 60a maxxpro and 42a super tackys but to be honest I didn't notice any difference in grip and the maxxpros lasted a bit longer but not that much really (1 months and a bit). I wouldn't go for a 2.7 'cos a 26" quite dense compound, 2 ply 2.7 is gonna be heavy, like 1.5 Kgs or something. Get a 2.5.
