ben_travis
no offence but this is not a good start to your website.....A lot of major riders such as; Martyn Ashton, Ben Savage, Benito Ros and Danny Butler have a lot more respect compared to natural riders, as riding street is more demanding.all these riders are superb natural riders, and you will find that riding natural is much more demanding on both bike and rider. I think you may want to change that.

poopipe
This is what happens if you use a bloody WYSIWIG html editor .... On first one, the path you've given the function is invalid - here it is in englishhttp://www.streetfurnituretrials.com/images/adam back wheel perfect photo.JPG/5.jpgnote the extra /5.jpg you've got on the endthe image is actually herehttp://www.streetfurnituretrials.com/images/adam back wheel perfect photo.JPGRight, that was the easy bit. Basically your problem is that the page isn't structured right. You've got an unclosed <a> tag at the beginning of the first row of pictures, followed by an empty <span> , followed by a <span> that holds the first 2 thumbnails, followed by another unclosed <a>, followed by a <span> containing the next 3 thumbnails.You want all 5 images in the same <span> and you don't want unclosed <a> tags anywhere (which is most likely what's preventing the function from working)This continues as far down the page as I could be bothered to check.I checked a few images and they are actually there so it's just the code thats buggered.I suggest going through the page in notepad and removing the extra crap. Indenting your code is a bloody good idea too eg.. Â Â Â Â <A HREF="java script:popitup('/images/1.jpg')">Â Â Â Â Â Â (the main problem is this line) Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <span style="text-decoration: none"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â </span> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <span style="text-decoration: none"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <a href="java script:popitup('blah.jpg')"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <IMG SRC="blah.jpg"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â </a> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <a href="java script:popitup('blah.jpg)"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â <IMG SRC="blah.jpg"> Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â </a> you get me ? boon racoon
sack off the java all together for the image gallery. they're useless. reference the links to the location of the actual file itself is all you need to do.and add:target="_blank"into your <a> tags and they'll open in a new windowthe span tag is technically an in line tag. if you're doing big blocks you should use the <div> tag if you want your page to be valid xhtml 1.0 transitional (web standard)

Sometimes it's down to a browser just being plain right f**king shit. For example, Opera handles borders wrong, so you have to add in a hack which only opera reads, to send opera the correct width/height values, otherwise it displays them wrong.Same with Internet Explorer relative positioning for div layers when padding and margin's are used. The enchanted broomstick
Just for your information mate you might wanna have a look here I would particularly ask you to look at "image thumbnail viewer" and "image thumbnail viewer II" They are pretty good and i think might add a nice little touch to your website. They give you a demo of how they work on the site and also give you instructions along with the source code for using it.Just a thought i had for you mate, stu

Thats what I suspected - things never change. I always assume IE gets it right and everything else is just being awkward. Its probably still unfashionable to like IE but in terms of robust html rendering nothing even comes close. ( IMHO - based on time spent developing websites professionally between 1995 and 2004 - before anyone says nutscrape - oops, i mean mozilla - oops, i mean firefox ) anyway, i've got a better job now so i don't really give a toss anymore

Simon
Internet Explorer is actually the lesser browser. For instance, i did a navigation earlier today. It's the "new school" method of using <ul></ul>, then formating it using CSS and "display:block;". In firefox, it works exactly as intended, but in IE, it doesn't even render the <li>'s, so the navigation is made useless. It also has problems with negative figures for margin's, and it completly ignores over riding of prior definitions.Internet Explorer may render HTML like a bitch on steroids, but when it comes to anything, it's completly shit. However, HTML is a set language, so theres a slim chance, and i mean 0.1% chance that you will ever come across a cross-browser HTML fault. It's more CSS that's the issue, which is where IE fails, badly. What job you have out of interest? And what job did you used to have?

poopipe
What job you have out of interest? And what job did you used to have? Now, i'm a 3d animator (amongst other vaguely related things) - i do realtime stuff mostly . I favour 3ds Max but i've got a good handle on MAYA too. Before that I did web and database development plus a little bit of (monkey level) C - I started with the proper server side stuff in about 96 on unix, did that for a few years and then learnt ASP. I got bored of web development because it became too easy. Back in the old days you really had to fight the browser.
Simon
I got bored of web development because it became too easy. Back in the old days you really had to fight the browser.Oh trust me, it isn't easy. I've been working on this new design now for a few days, and must of spent a good 3 or 4 hours on it, and it still doesn't work the same in IE as in Firefox. What with AJAX becoming popular, ASP dieing, ASP.NET becoming popular, W3C standards being very wide spread and soght after, it's hard to keep up.
