Dan6061
Right then... Bike's back biatches Well not exactly... Went to the police station, met the officer. He went in his own car, becuase if he was in a Police car it would be too obvious. So, we got to number 114 .......... And the guy that answered the door didn't have a clue about any bike being sold. So I rang the guy to ask where he was, he said he was outside his house, I asked if it was number 114, he said no, 144. Just a typo in the eBay messages. We found number 144, Police car parked around the corner. Me and mum knocked on the door, he answers, lets us through to the back garden MY BIKE WAS THERE. I gave it a good look over, then said 'Is it alright if we just talk it all over in the car?' 'yeah sure go ahead' Mum went back to the car, I got the policeman. The policeman and I then knock on the guys door, me holding all the proof that the bike is mine, and he answers. Policeman explained who he was, and why he was there. He then invites us through to the backgarden where my bike was. He explains that the bike was stolen, when it was stolen, and shows him everything I had to prove it's mine. He said well he bought it from Cashconverters, and said he worked there. He still had his work shirt on and told us he had the reciept, and that he bought it for £65. Unfortunatley, he couldn't find the reciept, but had a genuine reason for where he got it from. On everything CashConverters take in, they take a picture of the person selling it to them, and take down some details. So the police should be able to track the guy down, as long as he gave correct information - which is doubtful as it's stolen property. We took it back to the police station, and then I wrote a statment of everything that happened, from putting it into the boot of the bus, to finding it on eBay and arranging to meet the guy. Which was fine. The policeman then asked if they can find the person that stole it, would I like to take them to court. Of course, I said yes He then said that they'll be able to fingerprint the bike, and myself and the person that bought the bike from CC, and then if there's any other prints, they can trace them etc. Which is cool. Also, they have the bike at the police station now, becuase if they gave it back to me, and it happens to get stolen again, that's evidence gone, so they basically have nothing for the court case. He said that if they can't find out who stole the bike at all, I should get it back in a week, but they will keep n looking for the person that stole it. And as soon as I get it back, it's being Postcoded and Insured. And no guys, he wasn't gay or a woman It was actually his wife/girlfriend's eBay account, and she was selling it for him. So as you may have guessed, I'm a very happy chappy Even though I don't have my bike yet, I know that it's nice and safe at the police station. They're going to take a statement by the guy that got it from CC when he's at work there (sometime next week) and then get hold of the information on who brought it in, and trace them up. I shall now read pages 5-7. So yeah, I guess this is the biggest story on T-F yet, and I'm proud to have basically solved it myself. Even the police said that I've done most their work, all they did was finish it off. Just amazed how all this happened in 10days, and that I did all this on a Friday 13th. Krisboats
It was blatantly a rudeboy skally then that got annoyed when he saw the sticker, look at it this way though... you technically insulted him after he'd stiolen it. Well Done You!! I'm glad you've got it sorted dude. Edited January 13, 2006 by Krisboats

Dan6061
Remember though, more to come. With finding the b*****d that stole it, fingerprinting the bike (if needed), going to court. Shame I won't be able to film the court case. Would be brilliant. If they do find the guy, i'll make sure I get a pic. Sorry about not filming it, wouldn't have been exciting anyway, how it turned out. The guys face when he opened the door to a Policeman, and the person 'buying the bike' holding many sheets of paper was rather amusing.. Was like put together really. And he was fat Just finished reading previous pages, many posts made me laugh Stuff you guys come up with...honestly Picturing the shoot out with me hopping around on curbs would have been brilliant, as long as I didn't get shot. PaRtZ- you've lost yourself 10p my friend Gutted. John - Nice to know it all ended well for you too, having to read around 6-7 pages of possibilities of what could have happened, to find out all is good. Onzaboymark- Thanks for making the topic for me, for some strange reason I thought there would be no point, becuase of Stolen bike thread. Nice to know I was wrong about that, and basically thank's to everyone, you all helped me out Rich- haha, only actually noticed the text when I was getting the statement done, replied afterwards. Was way too much to text out, and wanted everyone to hear the whole story from me. That's everyone who I can think to say something to for now..will edit more in. But all in all, CHEERS Will deffo have to meet up with you guys some time for a ride too. You can meet the man himself
Mark W
This thread certainly gets the "OBM Seal of Approval" Good stuff you got it back. CC guy must be gutted his awesome bike's been taken back. Gutted, assuming it wasn't him who stole it. Might have to go and check one of their shops out if they're selling pretty pricey bikes for £65 Good work anyway Mark

Mark W
Why on earth haven't you asked to view the bike?I'd have gone round with loads of mates and just taken it! It's yours! All well and good except that:He's already told the police, so they're gonna be a bit suspicious if he suddenly drops it.The other guy may have bought it from the person who stole it, and therefore he'd think it was being stolen off him.etc.It just wouldn't be a good idea would it? I wasn't that far off " Either way, good thing some potentially innocent guy didn't get battered and have "his" bike that he'd just bought stolen off him I suppose... Lucky for him me and some people off SDH go ahead with the plan of battering him for the bike then... Don't think it would have happened anyway, I'm not the type of guy to do that. Unless I had actual proof that he stole it, then I would of went all Bruce Lee on him Well, tried to anyway He was quite a big guy too Edited January 14, 2006 by Dan6061
