....gcse

just wondering how important it is to have an english gcse for uni? will they bother asking about gcse's?

thanks

Will

dunno really will - depends on the uni probably. I think most will look at your gcse results. but as long as you do well in the relavant a-levels for your course, then i can't see it being a problem.

but some places won't let you into sixth college without english though...

so i dunno

not much help, it was so long ago

You need at least a C in core studies, English and Maths are "normal" requirements. You then need A Levels or equivalents (higher education - or is it further?).

Entry is points based - when I done it an A at 'A' Level that was 10 points. I don't know if it's changed. You also need to fill out a UCAS thing.

Good luck

I'd have thought those grades would be ok. B in maths isn't bad, and a D in english is still a pass isn't it?

ok, cheers man :)

i think i will stop with the english. if i carry on with it i will not get good grades in ma manufacturing course :(

so, thanks for the advice people :D

noooooo

If you want to go to uni, then get a graduate job you are pretty much screwed with no C grade Eng. Language GCSE. Employers may well reject your application at the first stage.

I would continue wth the resit!

As said without it you will not be able to prove you are competant at your own language.

I would suggest that you see your careers advisor or who ever the relavant teacher is that could give you some advice as to weather to quit your resit.

Dont expect a job without grade C Maths and English Language.

Your life depends on it :o Actually it doesn't, but you might wanna get it up a bit, as your Maths grade is good so a similar GCSE grade might just give you the advantage against someone who decided not to do the English GCSE and has all the same stuff as you.

What education system are you on about, Enlish is compulsary at GSCE.
