poopipe
Backup and reformat's always the best option after a virus.yup - wipe it all out and start again.Don't run any executable files left over from before you wiped it cos you'll just get it again, invest in some decent antivirus software and stop downloading that kind of porn from that kind of place. The man speaky the truth you normaly only get that type of virus from some propper dodgie sites eg porn or crack sites.Have a go at using system restore (if your running xp) ?Sam
alexnessie
stop downloading that kind of porn from that kind of place. To be honest, if you're thick enough to download this_is_porn.avi.zip.exe, you deserve what you get. Only download files that have the right file type (.wmv, .avi, .mpg ect.) Krisboats
I've got a lot of porno in the .wmv file format.I've said too much, haven't I?yesyou can try one of those online virus scans, they might be able to find it for you. But you would most likely have to turn off your system restore before you do it just so there's no chance of it coming back. I don't know if they can remove them either. Then get yourself some firewall software like norton firewall or even the microsoft one. Then some antivirus software.and i would truly recommend norton goback, it has saved my computer numerous times.
Danny
Sounds a bit more spywareish to me its very unusual for an actual virus to announce itself like that. Try running spybot S&D and see what it picks up.Then get yourself some firewall software like norton firewall or even the microsoft one. Personally i wouldnt bother with anything more than the windows firewall unless your a company with confidential data.

If you're on broadband you really ought to run a firewall, its not so important on dial up - zonealarm is nice cos its free and is a lot more configurable than the boggo XP one. and yeah - lots of good porn comes as .wmv these days. most of my daniella rush colection is in .wmv and porn doesnt get any better than that
