011001000110010101110010
Sheesh, just out of interest what sort of welding is used on Ti frames?
gateeight
£999 a frame. Now no one can call the triton deema expensive for a ti frameThe "Iron" ti is beautifully constructed from 3AL - 2.5V Seamless Tange Ultimate Butted titanium tubing. If you are going to make a ti bike you might as well use the best stuff you can get and do it well. The Sanko steel Charge "Iron" frame is only £249.99Both frames are equally good value for money. 011001000110010101110010
The steel frame sounds good for the price, but the problem with Ti frames is that the user hasn't got the experience from looking at other Ti frames to judge about value for money if you understand what I mean. rich4130
I thought it was a GT hans rey frame?
Martin Grainger
He said to me that the blue one was a GT hans rey and the other (the black one) was a mongoose jump bike.
Gazza
The "Iron" ti is beautifully constructed from 3AL - 2.5V Seamless Tange Ultimate Butted titanium tubing. If you are going to make a ti bike you might as well use the best stuff you can get and do it well.I am sorry, but it's just funny the way you compare Taiwanese Titanium for civil use with the Russian aerospace OT-4 Ti without knowing any factual physical specifications. The difference in price comes from the country where the product is made and from the money people want to make. We can do Ti frames twice as cheap. But the welds and the tubing will be of low quality and the frames will be easy to snap. I don't want that. I make proper stuff for proper experienced riders. No alternatives here.
Tony Harrison
Yeah, Asia are hardly renowned for their high quality metals. Check out the Indian steel on our railways for example... most of it is scrap we send over in the first place.

SCOTTY___
The 24" Ti frame looks really neat... The welding looks top notch! And the Frame would be really really sweet to ride and would be uber light... Also yeah i would slap all the strongest lightest parts on and make it sooo god dame light to throw around!!Good bike by the looks of things and also its not abad price for a Ti frame! Was'nt the batch frame like £1100? Thats the Ti mod if you dont remember! HereScotty
Gazza
That's it Craig. I can't tell you the whole story about Batch here in public. The thing is that the high price they ask is based on nothing. We now make Tritons at two same factories in Russia where Batch used to (he is no longer in producing trials stuff). The materials are the same, the quality is the same (it's even higher, because I control the whole production process by visiting factory 3-4 times a week and spending there hours on end)...but our retail price is lower. Why? Because we don't want to make easy money on our fellow trials riders! We set the price that reflects the work that have been done. Not more than that.P.S.: I don't really care if someone classifies this post as an advertisment. I just wanted to let people know the truth about Ti frames. Doesn't matter what brand it is. trialsguru
does anyone know if anymore info has come out about chris' mongoose frame or is he still riding that Ti 24?
Waynio
akrigg has sometihng on the way like nick @ gate eight has probably stated, seen as though nick didnt say owt bout it, i odnt tihnk i should it will be a "suprise" to you all but theres a clue in this thread what it "Could" be like. its just that it wont/may not be a FULL production line thing, more like a "special" Akrigg edition only, but there maybe a cheaper alternatvie.Waynio.............................you will have to wait and see @ the British Bike Trial Championships.............it may not be at the first one, maybe at the 2nd or 3rd one ;) its been done before its just that its "original" and just how chris likes em.............. "Mr mr wheres your seat?" look jimmy im sat on...............
