watto
apparently the black thiner spokes are just to show that they are original monty wheelbuilds

Hope this helps.dave.mine 2, but it kept doin them up as i got pissed with them undoing them selves, arrr well doesnt matter now, back wheel and acs blew up soooo, no worriesbut its a possible,or it could be the spokes tensioning them selves ( i think thats correct wording)wilky

Mark W
When the wheel is new, all the spokes have to bed in. When this happens, they wear slight grooves into each other. Basically, when they're not tight enough they'll flex slightly and will possibly squirm about and maybe pop slightly out of the grooves. This gives the "creaking" sound. You can sort it out either by putting a tiny amount of grease inbetween each over-lap of spokes, tightening the spokes that are noticeably looser, or gently filing any burrs on your spokes. The easiest way is usually just to tighten the spoke up slightly. If you go round the wheel pressing pairs of overlapping spokes together with your thumb and index finger, you'll probably find some loose ones. Tighten 'em. Alternatively, it could be those thinner spokes that are messing it up.Either way, no need to take it to a "Professional Wheelbuilder". Wheels are easy to sort out, but they're also fairly easy to f**k up too, so ask on here before going mental with the spoke key...

Onza Kieron
You're best off checking and tightening the spokes like Mark said and if that fails report back to us and we'll have a better think.
Dai the Socket
Probably because the Titanium nipples are shocking, and the spokes snap at any opportunity!
