RJ.
hey guys - im a long time reader, but this is my first thread so bare with me okay - last time i was out riding i noticed my rear maggie was becoming weak, when i adjust the TPA the pads dont move in like they should, they move the tinyest bit, but not enough to fully lock the wheel up, they still managed to slow me down but say if i went to back wheel or landed on it the wheel it would slip forward, and i was thinking maybe it needed a new bleed? or its leaking or something? - this has only happened recently and i havent got a clue what to do :/if you guys reckon it needs bleeding can someone guide me on what to use and how to use it exactly as its my first time, thanks in advance guys/Robin
bikerdude2006fr
hey man, i usually find that that happens when the bolts going into the maggie come loose. if i were you i would get your 8 mill spanner and tighten them a bit and then rebleed. i know you asked for information on how to rebleed but if you shove it into search im sure youll find millions of threads with the info Cheers Jay
the judge
are your pads close enough to your rim? if your bolts are a little loose the calipers may have moved outwards when you last braked, if so try moving the calipers in a little. hope i helped

ned1
get and old set of pads u dont use, strip all of the rubber off them, then using wood screws screw them onto the back of ur current pads, i have done this and have found it works wonders. King C
try slackening off the tpa's then moving the calipers towards the rim, do up the mount bolts then adjust the tpa back to how you like it. Hope this works/helps.king Edited January 1, 2006 by kcchan
bikerdude2006fr
To be honest kcchan, it sounds more of a problem with the bleed, i rekon he should make sure the bolts are tight, give it a nice rebleed and it will work like maggies should Cheers Jay

Guest
If I want to change the fluid in my maggy I assume I have to get rid of all the old stuff first by simply putting in so much of the new stuff that all the old oil comes out at the lever? Is that right?
