Phatmike
You won't be able to run movie maker on 98. Movie Maker will come standard with XP, although there are much better products "available" such as Premiere. Which would run on 98, but probably a little slow depending on your ram and CPU!You'll need a firewire card if you've not got one, they're around £10 from dabs.com, and will come with the cable you need.Mike. DOMwww.adobe.comitll cost you 600quid thoughtry avid, they have a free editing package.http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.aspa firewire cable cost me about £4 from scan.co.uk or aria or something like that. get it when you order the firewire card (which you'll probably need because your machine sounds old)

But the only problem is the price.
Greetings
You will need a FireWire IEEE1394 interface (can be got as a seperate PCI card). That's the best and quickest way of copying data from a DV camera onto a computer. It's all digital, so you don't loose quality. For editing I use Premiere Pro 1.5. Great program although it's pretty expensive. Got it from a friend whose parents use it every day. That's also the program I use to record the footage onto a computer. Unfortunately it needs rather a powerful computer to run.
