Up'n'away
Mine has cross threaded 2 times, (now i know when to stop turning) every time this has hapened i have just clicked it back into place.Got a pair of plyers and held the screw from turning ,then with a small flat screwdriver turn the red thing. (use of screwdriver : Griping the red thing)worth a try..
T-BAD
The 2005 levers are a totally new design to magura so surely there going break some way or another, were as with the 04 brakes they are the same design as the previous products, so they managedto make them stronger as the years go by. but with this newer design they've only sold this for a year nowso they've got next year to over come the problems with it.it also depends whether you like the feel of the levers too. if it was me personally i would go for the 04 brake because, its easier to bodge looks ok in your case will match the front lever cheaper than the 05i have got the 05 brake and have had many problems with the tpa and the only solution to this is buy a new lever or get one specially made. i prefer the 05 to the 04 for the feel and looks but if i hadn't of got it on my bike i probably would of bought the 04 brake set hope this helps you
Greetings
I think the 04 leaver is a good buy. The system is old and has been proven to be reliable as far as strength is concerned. The design has been the same for at least 4-5 years (dunno what was earlier). Magura released new 05 leavers most certainly to boost sales. Must say I was tempted by the new design but soon everybody was saying it's unreliable. Yay to the old design !
