TheMunn
Evening all, I built up my new frame the other day as normal, everythin was sweet apart from the cranks/bb. I'm not sure what is wrong with them but there must be something wrong due to a big tight spot in my chain, I don't quite know why its there. When I spin the cranks back fast you can see my bash ring moving from side to side as if something is bent! Everythin there is tight, my freewheel, the bb and cranks are all fine but this is driving me mad because I can't get good chain tension. Please help me Thanks. mat hudson
do you run a front freewheel?is it a screw on bash?is your bb old?are the cranks square taper? Edited December 30, 2005 by mat hudson
Onza Kieron
I had some cranks that did that, ISIS, i took them off and refitted them with grease on the threads and shebang was fine. Then I bent the ranks and that happened, try refitting them first.
TheMunn
My set up is:Shimano bb, not sure which one it is but it hasn't been used for long.Echo square taper cranks with bash, black ones, not cnc.Acs claw freewheel.Edit: I'm pretty sure its nothing major to do with the freewheel, it seems like the crank hole maybe off or the bb axle is bent ? zoo
My old acs claw used to have the exact same problem (except the tight spot) i never managed to find out what it was as eventually it fell apart when i was riding along,i THINK it was the fact that my freewheel needed tightening but i am intrigued too.zoo
Joe_Elding
I think it's because of the cranks we're using (i saw in bike pics) everyone i know, me included has the same problem, i was told it was because the threads weren't put on straight or something
