The Foamoi Refresher
has no one ever done media, at A-level, or at uni? did it at a-level, not doing it at uniall you guys argue about it, but its called style of editing, thought that vid was the best ive seen in agesf**king brilliant it shows you everything, you supposed to imagine the rest really, you dont have to see a massive gap from the biggest angle for it to look good, i would rather see more video's like that on tftop notch andy, really really enjoyed it, shame about some of the head chops but who cares?loved the music, and the edits to suit it, fast passed action, its these kinds of video's that are going to grab more interest, well good. shows how exciting trials can be, and it isand was nice to see a crankflip in there too, good one dan jones luisio
JIX
As Janson has just said it is really really tight in doneys warehouse so stepping back and getting a better angle is very difficult, and also with as many quality riders there were that day it was hard to see where someone was going to do something amazing next.I really love this vid, it does show how much fun the day was, and I like the way andy has never repeated a move really, its all different with great variety of moves. My fav bits are dans sidehop where he holds it for ages and nicks pedal up the sloped sleeper, even though it cost me the cokes .The only person I would imagine wouldnt be happy with the vid is doney, as he is always falling off
SQuiT-man
To me you could look at this video two ways. The angles didn't really show the magnitude of some of the moves i.e. distances height etc.But the angles did show the moves themselves which can be considered as a good thing. However if the video was intended to represent the day as a whole and the fun people were having then i think it was a success because to me the angles kind of made me feel as though i was there going from one object to another to watch people doing there moves. In my opinion i thought that the video showed me the fun people were having and some of the moves that went down, If you wish to view it from a riding only perspective then you may not appreciate why some parts of the vid were filmed the way they were, but to me it does not look like that was the film makers intent as it wasn't a new and exiting vid in which someone is doing there biggest best moves. It felt more like a scene report to me. It looked like everyone had fun so. I aggree in the comment about there being the two ways of looking at it. Personally, I liked the vid, it was made lively and real by the editing and music, plus the moving camera angles that I liked. Definately not like one of those boring vids where the angle stays the same until each move is completed.

Damon W
fooooking love that videoas the title says the emphasis seems to be on 'FUN' and what a good jobby youve done, the music and the camera angles all add up to the funfactor. plus wheeler's lil 'section' is again faf (funny as f**k) awesome riding too
munkee
jesus christ some people need to get over themselves and accept the fact that everyone has different tastes. If camera angles are good for one person, they might be for another. Siders you got f**k all to be sorry about you have to remember there are a lot of "groups" on this forum who ride together and if someone posts anything negative towards one of them.. they all come along bitching together. Reminds me of a post i made about TM1 not being "the greatest trials movie of all time ever OMFG i orgasmed over it". But ah well thats the world we live in. .. Yea lets all give warnings to people who post negative... thats very very.... ....... f**king stupid. I swear i worry about the people on this forum. Literally i lose sleep over it.Anyways i liked the video, but i can see what siders was saying.
zoojames
Its a great video, but agree with Siders!I think the ideas behind the angles could really work, its just it was way to crampt in there to get it all, hence the CONSTANT head chops, was only thing that let it down! Other than that a very enjoyable video!James
Ash-Kennard
Its a great video, but agree with Siders!I think the ideas behind the angles could really work, its just it was way to crampt in there to get it all, hence the CONSTANT head chops, was only thing that let it down! Other than that a very enjoyable video!James agreed. top video. but i'm sure if chris doney viewed it he would be a bit pissed off, all he does is 2bails. it didn't really do him any justice at all.other than that it was a top vid, the best i've seen since rich pearsons last vid. PaRtZ
On the whole its a keeper for me The only thing I didn't like was there didn't seem to be much editing, just all the clips put together. I know excessive slow-mo is a nono, but some of the moves definitly worth itI thought the camera work was fine I loved the extreme close up of the python and the crankflip couldn't have been from a better direction Very good video andy
The Foamoi Refresher
ash, its not donny's video, so who cares?headchops? who cares? there are ZERO rules about making a trials video, if you were going to make a sitcom, there are rules for it, if you change them they wouldnt be a sitcom.trials video's, have no narrative, they just show the riding, thats what the emphesis is on, so you can do basically whatever you wantuntill someone makes something out of this world, as a trials video, no one has anything to really follow bybeen trying this at uni, incorporating narrative into a trials video, something thats has a real 'in a film makers sence' structureandy's video is well good, shows what trials can be, exciting! and that makes it a good video, luisio
Ash-Kennard
ash, its not donny's video, so who cares?I know but he could at least be shown as a good rider and not a failure seeing as it was his garage and all. tis only fair
011001000110010101110010
Not really about showing people as good riders, if doney falling off fitted well then it works. I doubt Andy put it in to make him look bad. And even if he was feeling so vindictive I doubt it will have any effect on Doney's position as a competition trials rider. AndyT
posted this the other day on observed trials, don't believe I"ve written it here:I checked this out over on trials forum last night- really good video...glad he tried something different than everyone else and wasn't afraid to get in close to the action (too many far away shots these days). The fast music went well with the close up shots, and there were enough jump cuts and quick angle changes to keep you excited- too many times people choose quick music and don't edit it correctly- 4 seconds to show a set up of a move, waiting to edit the end of the move out too slowly...he did this well. Criticizm: maybe a little too quick, it looses the feeling or emotion of the event...the viewer could get lost in what is going on- maybe a few of the outside shots and more variety, not all shots having the rider taking up the whole frame. It starts to become more cookie cutter and repetitive after a little while, the ending is great though.Much better than 90% of the vids coming out, and more interesting than anything in months- great job. Rich Pearson
i can not get over the fact that sam has got his hair cut. I'm with you on that one. I was sure he'd just tucked it into his helmet or something when I saw the pics...get your tongue out of chris doneys arse ash , might improve your outlook upon the world Don't you think thats a little narrowminded? Chris and Ash just happen to live close to each other, are good mates, and Chris has this amazing talent that people who are interested in the sport of trials who live in the surrounding area are proud of. It's like us southerners and Andrei Burton, people like Chris and Andrei are something to be proud of, not envied. And, good God, have you ever met Ash Kennard? One of the nicest, openminded blokes I've ever met.....Sweet video Andy, really, REALLY liked it. I think the close up stuff gave it quite a cool feel to it. Hope Chris has another funday, last time I was there I was recovering from two broken ankles and could barely ride.... Rich
