basher
heres the story i got a gu frame kit for christmas and put it together on the day with it i got some taped echo cranks and have had no problems untill today.i was riding and noticed the pedals were fairly loseso i borrowed a spanner and tightened them up and then when i went to ride again it felt like the cranks were bent. i obviously knew they weren't as they were new so i took the pedals of to see if it was them and they came off at a angle as if i had cross threaded them but i knew i hadn't i the cranks would have felt like they were bent ever since i put it together. so i started to think of ideas to solve this and i've come up with 2 ideas 1. drill the thread and tap a bigger one and use a pedal with a bigger thread like truvatis have2. in the end of the pedal drill a hole and tap a thread in and bolt the pedals onany sugestions would be a great help or if you have aan easier way any thing at all apart from buy new cranks

basher
good idea but it would mean i would have todrill a hole the right size and then thread it as they don't just push in they screw in.
watto
it may just screw into the existing hole if not find out what thread it is for example "m8 " then get a drilling and tapping book look up the size and it should tell you the size of the hole you need to drill tehn tap it with the write tap from a tap and die set should do

watto
i cant see any problems with that but make sure u drill the hole square make sure the crank is level when drilling it also if you ahve to tap it make sure the tap peice is square into the hole
