Earlier on I was thinking about riding and stuff when I thought is there a certain limit anyone can get to? will top riders like tunni, scott, porter, staples etc. be able to keep pushing the sport, and the rising people like damon watson for exaple be able to go even further? or some time in the near future will the bounderies be met only being able to sidehop 10 pallets or only being able to gap 10ft ? will there come a time when the top riders can't push the sport anymore ?

Well yes and no, I mean there is only so far you can jump upwards and so far you drop to a rail before you wheel just cant take it ect ect.

But it can keep going further by trying diffent things like Porters 3 tap over that big drop gap in his vid, not seen many people do that before and ime sure the seccond people watched his vid the went out and tryed something like it.

:)

No-one thought a 900 was possible on a skateboard think quite a few boarders can do that

a back flip on a motorbike now double back flips

no one could do a flare in BMXing now they do no handed shizzle the sport will keep getting better forever i think

That's different though. There's no real mechanical limit to doing a backflip, really, but there is a mechanical limit to how much force you can exert.

I guess it'll probably come down to frame/component design to see how much higher people can get...

following from what matt said, things like peple being inventive with their riding and trying new things...

totally agree with will here - people will just start being more inventive/techy/linking moves together and stuff

of coruse there is the 'holy grail' of trials tricks - back/front flip drops too

and i reckon we could be seeing tailwhip drops soon too...

Well if you think about it i bet bout 20 years ago the trials riders thought that being able to sidehop 53 inch was not possible but now people can do it.!!!!!!!!!!!

so yep i think that the people in the sport will always be able to go an inch higher and push the limits further. :)

always be able to go an inch higher and push the limits further.

Let me introduce you to a good friend of mine. He is called gravity. Not sure if you've met before.

There is a limit, and one day it will be reached, but it will be a long time before that happens, and even when it does, as people have already said, everyone will just be more inventive.

It will reach a point commercially where only so much can be done, the reall top guys will always go the best because they can have a rim or a frame that weighs nothing and so will break after a ride, we cant afford to do that so most of us 'mortals' will only go so big, so far.

Shame, im not too sure how big/far the pro's can go but i dont think we r there, there is a new tap im sure some one will start doing it allowing much much bigger taps..............hmmm......

I think that in the future all trials bikes will look like this. Sidehops will reach upto around 80 inches using the 350mm bb rise and the bouncy ball compound rear tyre. Trials riders will only eat pastys to gain ultimate power for extreme maneuvers. This bb rise will allow for hooks on over vertical walls and also allow entire comp sections to be just ridden straight over leaving all the trials pros with scores of 0.

This is my drink fueled idea, and i would 'laugh my ass off' if it ever happened.

LMAO

hahahahaha, thats the funniest thing ive seen in ages!

excellent (Y)

You have a very odd sence of humour then....

I'm kinda split with this... Obviously people will continue going bigger and further etc... But they're only gonna be able to go so far... Human Ability and Physics ain't gonna allow anyone to go any further... So none of this 80" sidehop malarki!!

Alternatively, some uber prodigy/freak of nature may come along and pwn us all... But they're might break records by a couple inches at the most... Nothing ridiculous..

So no...It won't just keep going bigger and bigger... It's just not possible...

i can see rear supspension coming into play soon

haha - no. How the fook will that help ?

I reckon we are pretty close to the limits right now with the techniques we have now.

But things get invented.....

plus it will mean that trials will have to go in more interesting directions - as in not all ooh can i hop over a 53 inch bar . . . .

ALL GOOD

Trials motocross uses suspension to good effect.

People were throwing about ideas of titanium frames with suspension using the frame flex as a pivot point to create a softail, or possibly using Cannondales idea of carbon chainstays as a pivot point, to give a tiny bit of spring to help launch upwards.
