Hoot
As i know a lot of you use firefox, i thought i should post!1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true” Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now! I tested this and it really works, particuralrly on this site and other nuke sites.Cheers all... Hoot Sorry about the editing, if there is anything wrong, let me know, seem to be getting a lot of bugs in t-f lately on my end Edited December 24, 2005 by Hoot

Krisboats
no difference to mine, it was fast as fook anyway though so i'm probably not going to see a difference..Now if anybody has any tips for speeding up my cousins slow pc thats about 2-3 years old it would help a lot more, and nothing simple like de-fragging it or using msconfig or deleting files in the prefetch or deleting cookies/adware/spyware... it would be greatly appreciated. tipsy Jock
While we're on about firefox, mine has real issues showing pictures in a thread. for example if someone posts up a set of ride pics 9/10 times it wont show more than the first 2. IE doesn't seem to have this problem though, any clues?
