nb88
My brother just bought a PC off ebay, and when he starts it up a little white DOS line just flashes in the top left of the screen. He's tried booting from a windows xp disc. When he bought it was fully formatted and everything... is it just that he needs to install the mobo drivers or something?Cheerios. Danny
Motherboard drivers are installed inside windows. Unless the hard drive is SATA then it should just boot and install from an xp cd.
Tomm
Check that it's set to boot from CD-Rom as first preference in the boot order. Also does it do anything before it gets to the flashing line, does it do the usual tests?
nb88
Nothing happens before the flashing line comes up, sounds like the CD drive starts to read the CD. Doesnt show any text or anything like that. How do i get to the boot order?CheersNoz.
