I've been meaning to do one of these for a while but never actually do, but anyway where the f**k have so many people disappeared to? If you (re-)signed up post-2002, don't bother replying because you probably won't remember any of these people.

Welshriders lot

Yea Sam is a bit of a chav, he can be found zooming around carparks in his car these days. As for matt,(great guy) he's into his vehicles now and doesnt ride any more, the only ones that still have interest in trials is me and dave kerr.

Bring on this summer!!! I really miss the welshrider days... :(

Havn't posted on here for AGES, so I thought this is the perfect opportunity (Y)

I've not ridden for over a year now- I am at uni and the bike's at home. How's the scene around Ipswich? I've ridden with the Ipswich, Lowestoft and Colchester lot- how are those guys?

I'm gonna ride a bit over christmas when I'm back home- hope I can remember how to bunny hop  Anyone seen anything of the Trimley / Felixstowe lot recently?

Alright chap! Hows things, nice to see you posting on here again.

Rich and Aiden are still riding, Alec is now back from Uni for a couple of weeks (the ginger one with a mission, you should remember him..) Andy doesn't ride much, i rarely ride, have ridden with Nick, Dan etc. from Colchester once or twice. erm, yer defiantly you should come out riding in this holiday, when are you back to the 'Stowe?

James Hyland - where's he gone?

What ever happened to:

Wayne Nelson (I think... he was on the bashguard.com site)

Michael Graves

Kurt Brain

Danny Smith

The rest of the guys that used to ride in London happily together (aside from Stephen Morris/Luke Edwards/Tim Rodriguez etc... ie. before all the londontrials.co.uk/londontrials.com stuff)

I haven't seen any comp results for years so don't shout at me.

I know what Carl Stanton is upto these days - Class A drugs. It's a shame to see him heading that way.

Another mystery rider - James Wilson. He nearly won the first Hop Idol ages ago, still has that blue pashley I believe... rides occasionally around Newbury.

Good post Sameer, brings back the good ol' days.

EDIT: Forgot Adam Wilson... he was a beast.

Michael Graves

I know what Carl Stanton is upto these days - Class A drugs. It's a shame to see him heading that way.

Michael is still riding from time to time, he rode the last round of the Hampshire series and he was also at Donney's warehouse on Saturday having a play around. I heard him saying to someone on Saturday that the last time he rode was at the last Hampshire comp so I guess he is getting tied up with work etc...

Carl is currently working as an electrician, I bumped into him for 5 mins while riding Oxford back in July, before that the last time I saw him was at the DJ memorial ride. Although he seems to be getting along with his career as a sparky im sad to say the Class A drugs comment above is true...

That rift only started because the London-Trials.co.uk riders didn't ride London yet we still did. Londontrials.com was up for all of a week before it became Urbantrials.com. Anyway we still see Luke from time to time and we get along well enough.

I must have been riding London for 5 years now and I'm not sure how much earlier Luke started riding there. There have been a few of London riders who've quit, people like Lee who now rides bmx and Alex and Anthony Finney who both quit I believe but I'm not really sure what other regular London riders there were.

What about...

Luke Birch from Bristol (?) - remember seeing his website years and years ago

Alex from East London, who rode a Saracen X-ile with Fatty's, hung around with that bender Chris Towes

Rich (?) from Littlehampton, DMR, used to do squeakers and stuff years ago

Scott who rode the Pashley in London, also rode flatland BMX

Danny Smith still rides as far as I know. Not sure about Kurt Brain, he probably went back to MX or something.

Matt 'Special b*****d' - At uni in Liverpool, does a bit of BMXing and jumps off the odd building. - anyonbe at liverpool uni should get back on their bike and come ride...

Winslo - Got banned, didn't he? - i bloody well hope so, remember that name from years ago and i distinctly remember wanting to break his legs for screwing me over about something, too long ago to remember what now

Kurt Brain - rides for ashton (acording to the web site) but was injuried out in 04 and doesn't apear to have done much since

Danny Smith - still rides, check the biketrialuk website and you'll see him on second place at the podium in one of the pics...

Luke Birch - now theres a name i remember from right back in the day, what ever did happen to him? i remember him killing about 8 pace frames in quick succession and then going on to beast an ashton or two... got on well with that guy.

Heck, you're not oldschool unless you've entered modandstocktrialsriding into a URL, bought something of Shaun Roster and thought you can get free replacements under warrenty...

Happy days. Speaking of which what ever did happen of Shaun from X-Street. My guess is that he packed it in and concentrated on the navy ? I remember the excitement of a trials specific company being set up, and the amazing Taboo frames and forks (ha!)

Yeah Shaun went with his career, tried to keep X-Street going, but it didn't really work..

I was clearing out some old video tapes, and I came across my Under Pressure tapes! So crazy seeing some of those people again - like Shaun standing in the background... And me :)

What else was it like? Middle rings were good, because then you could get around, sitting on your saddle of course. People chopping down the little bit of seat tube above the top tube, then zip tying a saddle on top because it was a bit like the Megamo ones with the push in seats.

Having to order bits from Trialsin.com Goatwheels because no where here sold trials bits! Seeing Plazmatic pads or Threshold bits on someone's bike was seriously cool, as was BTM stickers!

Do the truely old school have to have subscribed to the mtb-trials mailing list with people like Jason Chamberlain - Now a Specialized engineer - Aaron Lutze - Match Video Mag - Michael Fridell - Pete Wilk - Dan 'The Face' Schnieder...

Not to mention, the Great Scone Incident of 1997

haha thats great! I remember reading that now, many years ago. Cant beat the DCD chain device, and CRUD guards for a bit of old skool. The Martins had them, therefore they were essential kit!

Well without a DCD, how would your chain not fall off your single ring? People never seemed to understand how that could happen...

Hello everyone, especially Matt.

I haven't actually touched my trials bike since I moved to uni (3 years ago).

I spent a lot of time writing software these days, I might get back into the riding some day.

Oh, and I'm living in Central London and really should buy a road bike!

Crud quards, such a waste of time on a trials bike, but yet still everyone had one.
