domonza
Reet, basically my left crank(the one without the freewheel on) is really pissing me off now, There is something wrong with it but im not sure what it is. I can move the crank side to side by about half an inch and the crank is are already tight. I remember hearing someone saying you could put a piece of a can round your taper on your bottom brackett (Y) So being desperate i tried that quite a few times i made sure that the bit of tin was staying in place and then my crank was fine so i turned by bike a round lowered the front end and let go of the back then i heard a like small bang and felt my crank, and it had was loose again, im quite confused now and dont know what to do has anybody got any suggestions or do you think i need a new crank. Cheers DOM :)

Jonny Jones
I guess take your crank off and look at the taper/spline? Sounds like its rounded, pure and simple. J.
TheMunn
Sounds like if you have been running the crank while its loose it has worn the taper, this usual means its time for a new left hand crank unfortunatly.
Shaun H
If the bodge thing isn't working it's probably time for a new crank arm. If you're short on cash try ringing whereever you bought it from (or tartybikes if they stock them/it) and ask if you can buy just the left hand crank to save yourself a bit of dosh, especially as it's the non-drive side. Clarky
:$ Sorry diddy for asking questions on your topic, but my left hand(non-driveside) isis middleburn is slightly rounded as when i push down on the crank arm one way then rotate it and press down the other way it has movement up and down(not side to side) i was just wondering weather or not you can send middleburns back? or if you can bode it at all.So basically for those who couldnt understand my crap explanation of what it is thats wrong : my isi is rounded on the slots and was wondering wether it can be bodged or sent back as the cranks are near new. ;) Clarky
nafan
Yeah sounds like your taper and spline is f****d to me... And Jason I don't know whether you can take/send middleburns back but does it have warantee/guarantee on it? Otherwise you might be able to get just a left one from someone on the forum or from ebay :$ B) Hope this helps guys, Nathan ;)
